Not Impressed By Wade's D

So Wade is a defensive genius.... how come then....

1. Wash is down to their 3rd string RT... yet we refuse to flip Ware to that side and instead keep him rushing against Samuels, one of the top LT's in football. Ellis' inability to beat the 3rd string RT only made it worse but Ware should have been over there.

2. Every other team can have their top CB's shadow WR's but Wade apparently does not know how to do so. Reeves on Moss all night made no sense and came close to costing us.

3. At the end of the game when Wash was clearly in pass only mode, Hatcher and Spencer were not on the field, Bowen and Tank were.

4. If he ever blitzes Newman again on 3rd and long, I will lose it.

Well Jethro was down on the sideline, maybe he had some input on the defensive calls.:p:

So you're unhappy with Ellis not winning his individual matchup? That's quite different from being unhappy with Wade.

No, not every team does that.

Spencer and Hatcher were both on the field quite a bit in those last two drives.

But really could easily be 7-3.

Put a pile of crap in one hand and a wish in the other. Shouldof, couldof, wouldof doesn't cut it. We are what we are and that is 9 and 1. I swear you rather be miserable instead of enjoying a win.

The defense is the reason we're not 8-2 if you're referring to possibly losing the Buffalo game. They held Buffalo to 3 points on offense.

no pressure on the QB....Ware was gassed and should not have been out there some plays. There were plays he did not get off the ball, and when he did he just kind of stood there. Becuase he was EXHAUSTED. This is why we drafted Spencer and we should have seen more of Spencer when the Skins were in a pass only mode

Who else would you rather have covering Moss? Other than Newman, Reeves is the fastest corner we have.

Other than the nice one handed catch by Moss, and the 17 yard slant, Reeves did a really nice job.

How many TD's did Reeves give up to Moss?

Perhaps someone who could actually prevent Moss from catching the ball.

Reeves will never be anything more than a 3rd corner.

Glad others are seeing this defense for what it is. Considering how Wade is supposed to be a 3-4 wizard, I was fully expecting to see a drastic change in the D's play. Instead I see just about the same from last year, not being able to put "constant" pressure on the QB. Ware can't do it alone, so others need to step it up.

guys, our D is designed to give up alot of short-intermediate stuff through the air

we play a zone defense and deep coverage

I think it would be awesome to shutout Moss, but it's not realistic.

He's one of the fastest WR's in the game.

But it is possible to do a helluva lot better job than we did today. And that starts by having better starting corners. We can't get much better than Newman, but we can improve significantly over Reeves.

Reeves is the best left corner we have right now. He's able to play the slot and the motion.

If you can find any others corners available right now, who can run a 4.4 and still cover players like Randy Moss [no TD's against Reeves] and S. Moss [no TD's against Reeves], then you should be calling Jerry Jones about it.
