I think he looked better this year than in previous years when it came to putting up stats. But in previous years, he was better in the clutch. HE has a lot a lot of room for improvement. I think he really needs to improve presnap and in the redzone. He was mediocre in the redzone. Great qbs are really good in the redzone no matter who they play. He also needs to get more consistent with his mechanics and that'll stop him from throwing behind the receiver.

How much more can he improve after 4 full years in the league? He can tinker with things here and there but he's gonna be who he is after 4 years

Because he’s average/below average. Simple as that. He can’t learn to have a better arm, he can’t learn to be more accurate. He just CANT. He doesn’t have what it takes to be an elite QB. He’s a solid backup at best. Maybe that’s why he’s been so emotional lately. He’s realized what he is. Hopefully he’ll realize the price of that too.

He played with an injured finger and shoulder that final month. He clearly regressed later in the year probably due to injuries but he still had a very solid season.

That’s nonsense. He clearly is very much a starting QB; not a backup.

No he didn’t. He didn’t play with an injured arm/finger against the Saints, Jets, Packers, Bills, Bears, Or Pats. He even said the injury didn’t both him against the Eagles. His “injuries” are NOT an excuse. He just regressed and isn’t that great.

Agreed. He showed a ton of great progress but really crapped the bed since around thanksgiving. Don't know what to think of him, to be honest.
Anyone who remembers me knows I criticized Dak before the year. I supported him but after 2017, I stopped believing he could progress to a superbowl qb. for a month this year, he made me question what I said. I started thinking he could do it, but he couldn't finish the season. I don't know about it. Maybe that's reason enough to draft a qb. If you don't know after 4 seasons, maybe you never will.

Need to set his feet and learn when to run.

Nonsense. He’s only a starter by Dallas standards. On almost every other team in the league that isn’t desperate for a QB, he’d be a backup. Only reason he’s a starter here is because A.) We have no other options B.) We always settle for mediocrity and C.) Jerry Jones is an idiot at the GM position.

drones will buy the excuse he was hurt. as soon as I heard them mention his shoulder, I knew they were setting up an excuse for Dak incase he choked against Philly.

You’re blaming all those losses on him? Of course he’s not going to blame injuries he’s not that kind of player. Our receivers led the league in drops this season so he didn’t get a lot of help. Say what you will but he’s plenty good enough to win a championship with he just needs a better head coach and team around him.

No he is not that great. He flashed at times and earned a franchise tag. Hopefully he thrives under our new regime. If not we part ways.

"below average"... we should trade for Case Keenum then...

Like Dak or not, he is a quality starter in this league...

That's it. he has no competition, so he's allowed to strong arm the team. Do like Green Bay did with Rodgers. AS soon as Favre retired, they drafted a qb even though they had Rodgers. Rodgers ended up being great. The Seahawks traded for a qb of the future, but drafted Wilson. The old cowboys Had aikman but still drafted another qb just in case.Give yourself options. Give yourself the best chance to hit on a real franchise superbowl level qb.
