brad sham said decamillis had a grudge on the pregame yesterday. he used the word grudge. sherman stuff came directly from the espn dallas guys. garrett wanted full control of the locker room and a complete cleansing from that clique, players and coaches. i exaggerated about ryan but you get the point, as soon as he left the propaganda starting spreading thru the masses about him missing meetings, skip peete's philosophical differences were about work hours according to mike fisher.

From my perspective, everybody who leaves the team always wants to win against their former team. So that's nothing new. But Coach D having a grudge is new. Everything I've read about Coach D's departure was that he wanted to go...and considering his name came up in a couple HC searches the last couple of years and the team blocked him, I wouldn't blame him.

As for Ray Sherman, he was/is a well-respected coach, but he allowed certain things in the receiver room that Garrett didn't want. As the HC, these guys work for him. I just don't have an issue with a HC making changes to his staff.

As for any narratives that follow them after they leave, that's for the fans and media to discuss. Fans will latch onto anything, because we all want to like everyone who comes through those Valley Ranch doors. And when they're booted out, we gotta find a reason for them to leave.

You guys totally missed the OP's point. He wasn't saying Peete is great, just that he was scapegoated and got some revenge last night. Moreover, the same running game problems that were supposedly Peete's fault last year are still there, i.e. little commitment to the run.

I think Chicago's 2nd half run success is almost all due to Brandon Marshall (6-4, 230) and Alshon Jeffery (6-3, 216). The Cowboys had to abandon playing the run because they could not stop these 2 players in the 1st half.

Exactly and btw, Murray ran for almost 150yds and would have run for 200+ if the team stayed close.

Peete may have gotten some revenge for getting the boot. That's true, if that's how he felt.

But how could he have been scapegoated when NOBODY cared that he left? Find me a thread where anybody lamented him leaving. Folks were mad that JG didn't get the boot, but nobody gave two bits about Peete leaving. It's a flawed point.

I am not sure I get your point. Peete was shown the door as a window dressing change that did nothing to fix the fundamental problems with the team. It was another way of giving Garrett a pass, while coughing up a lame symbol that something had changed. The fact that nobody cared doesn't seem relevant.

People were saying, if I remember correctly, Peete was being scape-goated last season. They were mocking it as part of the 'change' that Jerry talked about, after Jerry said he was going to make real changes.

Fans may not have cared if he left. But they cared that we didn't have much of a running game and made that known. Peete being let go was an acknowledgement that something was wrong with our running game. Thus, he was viewed as one of the problems with the running game. And, thus, he becomes a scapegoat, especially if the running game didn't improve.

Fans standing up for him is irrelevant to him being a scapegoat.

skip peete was lazy. ray sherman was too close to T.O/Crayton. decamillis has a grudge. rob ryan is sleeping thru meetings. etc...etc...

and that's not even half the people they've scapegoated over the years to protect this garrett/jones regime. it's sad so many in our fanbase eat it up too.
Awesome post
