Kind of pathetic when you consider the risk for injury compared to NBA/MLB, and how much revenue the NFL brings in compared to them.

1 Floyd Mayweather WBA/WBC champion $250M (a)
2 Manny Pacquiao Former WBO champion $150M (a)
3 Lionel Messi La Liga/Barcelona $56.3M
4 Cristiano Ronaldo La Liga/Real Madrid $50.2M
5 Sebastian Vettel Formula 1/Ferrari $50M
6 Fernando Alonso Formula 1/McLaren $40M
7 Zlatan Ibrahimovic Ligue 1/PSG $35.1M
8 Lewis Hamilton Formula 1/Mercedes $31M
8 Clayton Kershaw MLB/LA Dodgers $31M
10 Justin Verlander MLB/Detroit Tigers $28M
11 Zack Greinke MLB/LA Dodgers $27M
12 Wayne Rooney EPL/Manchester United $26M
13 Josh Hamilton MLB/Texas Rangers $25M
13 Ryan Howard MLB/Philadelphia Phillies $25M
13 Cliff Lee MLB/Philadelphia Phillies $25M
16 Felix Hernandez MLB/Seattle Mariners $24.9M
17 Albert Pujols MLB/LA Angels $24M
17 Robinson Cano MLB/Seattle Mariners $24M
17 Prince Fielder MLB/Texas Rangers $24M
20 Cole Hamels MLB/Philadelphia Phillies $23.5M
20 Kobe Bryant NBA/LA Lakers $23.5M
22 Amar'e Stoudemire NBA/NY Knicks/Dallas $23.4M
23 Joe Johnson NBA/Brooklyn Nets $23.2M
24 Mark Teixeira MLB/NY Yankees $23.1M
25 Joe Mauer MLB/Minnesota Twins $23M

Only 15 NBA players and 23 MLB players. Plus they play 82 and 162 games compared to 16.

when you have to divide the cap amongst 53 players, there isn't going to be a player making a crazy amount. As it is, QBs make about 1/8 to 1/6 of the cap per team......

Basketball has 15 players, but to be honest, the last 5 are usually low paid scrubs....giving only 10 real salaries, of which 2-3 are paid quite well.

Baseball has no salary cap. They can play a $1 billion a year to a player if they wanted to without penalty. So it stands to reason why those players get so grossly overpaid.

Race car drivers and golfers get very good prize money, as well as tons of money from sponsors.

Boxers, well the main headliners, get paid huge money for fights, as they only fight 1-2 times a year....so they tend to be a large draw, especially for PPV.

With Soccer, there are a handful of world beaters out there.....those players break the bank because they bring in just stupid amounts of money for their clubs.

I can't believe 4.4m people paid over $100 to watch Mayweather-Pacman. Everyone knew it going to be Dancing with the Stars and that is exactly what they got.

Fernando Alonso's contract is insane.

Not surprised by the lack of football players. Mayweather makes twice the NFL salary cap.
