The odds of not making it as one of the 2 teams to make it out of jsut 16 nfc teams is actually crazy

For one season, yes. For the long haul, no. The Cowboys are defying the odds by not making it to the CTG this century.

Only Dallas, Washington, Miami, and Cleveland haven't been to the CTG in the 21st century.

Dallas has NFL records for 13 consecutive playoff runs that failed to make a CTG, and for 3 straight 12 wins seasons that did not result in a CTG appearance.
