Not the year to tank

No! on Mike, he just happened to have a younger Mr. State Farm and won that SB and since, he is and has been terrible. Picking between him and BS, would be like picking between the frying pan inside or black kettle outside over a fire.

We will know they are tanking when they start trading players.

That is when teams are officially tanking.
Chauncey Billups of the NBA found that you can merely play backups for "further extended evaluation" with little to zero trading activity.

Just saying

But Jerry is in the, win now mode!

I am sure he will mortgage more of our future by giving away more draft picks before the trade deadline.
See tbh, if we had actually competent coaches, I would be fine with it. Look at the Rams’ model.

Biggest move this team can make rn is to fire Schotty.

We lost to a 0-4 team with a back up rookie qb I think we have no choice.
Not only that, but he had 110 QB rating. First time we've lost to an undrafted backup QB since the scab game in 1987 against Washington that was the inspiration for the movie "The Replacements".

Even if they’re tanking this year, not going to be a big deal with the Jets getting the higher of the 2 first round picks (they got the best on that deal because it seems like will be a top 10 pick for sure between GB or Boys).

Cowboys have been tanking for 3 years now.

The FO built rosters with zero chance to succeed the two seasons prior to this.

This was supposed to be a year they start to compete again after 2 years of soft tanking.

lol oops.
We have used up all our resources to "rebuld." There is nothing left in the tank

Typically, when you realize it’s a lost season, you hope for the worst so that you can rebuild. One bad season can change your franchise for the better.

But this is not that season. We’ve traded all our picks in 2027. The only original pick we have left is our 2nd rounder. So tanking really only gives us a pick in the mid-to-late 30s.

Here’s a recap of what happened to all our 2027 picks:
Original 2027 PickCurrent HolderTrade Details & Context
1st RoundNew York JetsSent to the Jets in November 2025 as the headline piece to acquire DT Quinnen Williams. (Note: Dallas also owns Green Bay's 2027 1st via the Micah Parsons trade, meaning the Jets will get whichever of the two picks is higher, and Dallas keeps the lower one).
2nd RoundDallas CowboysRetained. This is the only original pick Dallas kept.
3rd RoundPittsburgh SteelersTraded to Pittsburgh in August 2026 to acquire offensive tackle Broderick Jones.
4th RoundGreen Bay PackersTraded to the Packers in March 2026 to acquire edge rusher Rashan Gary. (Dallas replaced this by acquiring Pittsburgh's 2027 4th-rounder in the Broderick Jones deal).
5th RoundPittsburgh SteelersSent to Pittsburgh back in May 2025 as part of the trade package to land wide receiver George Pickens.
6th RoundPittsburgh SteelersTraded to Pittsburgh in October 2026 to acquire cornerback Joey Porter Jr..
7th RoundPhiladelphia EaglesTraded to division-rival Philly during the 2026 draft to move down in the first round. (Dallas later added a different 2027 7th-rounder from Houston in exchange for Nathan Thomas).
Who’s tanking already?

Dude, I don't. I am saying Mike is better than Shoddy, that's it.
I mean I get what you’re saying I mean it’s not worth arguing about we agree they both stink I just more so was saying Mike isn’t even worth acknowledging being better than Shotty because he stinks too but fair enough.

They need to tank the year before Arch goes pro.
