We better make an honest offer. Nothing about the recent health of our skill position players suggests we can survive a season with less than 3 capable WRs and expect to run our offense.

I think he realizes the grass isn't greener on the other side and Dallas is the best place for him career-wise, but if you get bowled over by a money offer then you have to take it.

Just spoke to someone close to the Robinson camp (Thanks to KellyQ of Miami for the new contact) and his agent as well as Robinson guarantee nothing will be signed until Dallas has a chance to match. Just know if he does sign somewhere, Dallas got their shot.
On the flip side, don't sweat these visits, Dallas will not lose Robinson with out a opportunity to buy back his services.

Seriously though, they'd have to pay him big time. And in Miami or Jacksonville, who's throwing to him?
gimmesix;4454614 said:The wide receiver market is killing us. Too many have gone off the board too fast ... and for too much.
It likely means Robinson will be overpaid. If a couple of the starting tier of receivers had held out for a few more days, I think our chances of re-signing him would be better. Instead, he moves up a tier, which should drive up his price.

VACowboy;4454914 said:I think saying Robinson leaving Dallas will be on the Cowboys is a bit shortsighted and simplistic. Robinson knows the cap and personnel situations of the teams involved. He knows he won't be a #1 in Dallas and that the team can't pay him like a #1 as other teams can. It's easy for him to say "i want to stay in Dallas," but that comes with a huge caveat: IF the Cowboys pay me market value (and I certainly don't blame him for that). But the bottom line is, if Robinson really wants to stay in Dallas, he can.
Sam I Am;4454920 said:Dallas plays a lot of 3 WR sets. Remember, he scored 11 TDs here as the 3rd WR and not playing an entire season.
He would have no problem staying here. He will get plenty of playing time and he will have a better QB than Miami has.
VACowboy;4454935 said:That may be true, but as burm says above, this is about money.
Deep_Freeze;4454764 said:Well we will have to pay to keep him, no question, we can't expect all these guys to just sign with us for cheap just to wear the star for another season. They want money too.
I figure Robinson will want a deal similar to what Meacham signed, and that was 4 years at 26.9 million.
The market is expensive, we can either spend the money or stay mediocre.

Overpay where you think you've got a bottleneck holding the team back, not at a position where we have decent production. Our receiver and tight end situation doesn't merit throwing dumb cash at it.
