Notes: Even Bryan B. agrees!

All of you are correct in some sense. This loss falls squarely on the shoulders of Garrett. I have been an avid fan for more than 40 years, and I hate to say this, but I think I am about done. I am not going to be one of these silly protesters that pretend to boycott, but yesterday afternoon when the ball bounced off the goal post, I thought, "I just wasted three hours of my life for this?"

Jerry, Stephen and their cadre of poor, under prepared coaches have left me feeling completely used.

Also long time fan dating back to 60's even those teams we knew we were bad on some, developing on others, but never felt we were stuck ...... Unfortunately we feel like a 4-12 team or if we get to 7-9 - 8/8 we will repeat ala Groundhog Day.....

O line is not helping Dak , and he does have some of his own " jitters" don't turn it over issues, but when he has a pocket he appears to be able to place the ball where he wants it.

Seems to me this team has gone a long way to solving D, but O is regressed, and I for one fear Dak & Zeke will be too beat up to amount to much going forward this year or the future....

I think JJ is done with JG's ****. In the last two weeks...he has blatantly denied that they're talking extension, was critical last week, and didn't speak to reporters after the game. Those 3 things are all very un-Jerry

Watching Chris Richard on the sideline I think he would light a fire under this team as HC. Give him the job and bring Romo in as OC/QB coach

Agreed. Not buying any of Jerry’s vote of confidence talk over the last few weeks.

The Cowboys took possession of the ball with 69 seconds and one time out left, thanks to the gift from Washington when Smith ran out of bounds. They ran 6 plays before the FG. I have no idea what Broadus is talking about when he says they ran 2 plays. They had two incomplete passes. Then 3 complete to Beasley. Then the run to Zeke. Then they called timeout and kicked the FG try.

The only issue I had is the run to Zeke to center the football. The 6 yard pass to Beasley was not a great decision either with 31 seconds left. That's on Dak but I could argue Beasely should have run a few yard further down field.

According to the play-by-play logs the Cowboys had 22 seconds left when Beasley was downed on the previously play. I thought it was 12 seconds when Zeke was tackled and they called time out at 3 seconds. In any case. That last 30 seconds was not handled well and instead of running Zeke, why not throw a pass hoping to get another 10 or 15 yards? Centering the ball on a 47 yard FG seemed like a waste of a play and time.

But the bigger problem for Dallas is they have only one guy in the passing game they can depend on and its Cole Beasely. The rest of the WRs are not dependable.

UPDATE:

My mistake. Broadus was talking about the last 52 seconds. He's right, they ran two plays before handing off to Zeke. Both were passes to Beasely in the middle of the field for a total of 15 yards. The First play they snapped the ball with :52 on the clock. They did not snap the ball again until there were 28 seconds on the clock. That was clearly too much time between plays in that situation. Should have been able to run two plays in that time.

I really like JG as a person, I think he does a decent job getting players (Not saying it's just him) but he can't manage a game.
Time and time again we've seen bizarre things called in very important circumstances. I'm not saying there's anyone better right now and I'm willing to ride this season out, but a change needs to happen if we're continuing this every other game win/lose crap. And at the off chance that the team somehow becomes a contender it won't be a total waste of a season. But a change needs to happen the second that we learn we're out of play off contention.
I've been a supporter, but it's been long enough.

I'm saying it doesn't matter who the coach is. A QB change will be made when, and only when, Jerry decides to do it.

And your stance is the one with no evidence. I've been paying attention the last 20 plus years while you've been blaming a conga line of coaches.

lol - so, it was just a coincidence that Jerry happened to be ready for a change in QB at the time he hired Parcells and that those next 2 QB's just happened to be guys that had played for Parcells in the past.

Sorry, but your words are empty because they have zero supporting substance. I'm providing examples of what has really happened.

Changing the coach can change a lot more than the QB. Coordinators can change, preferred schemes can change. It can take a few years to effectively change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 if you have to get new Defensive Linemen and Linebackers. Right now the defense is outstanding.

New coaches ALWAYS want their own coordinators/staff. They in turn want their own players. Changing coaches is about a lot more than just coaches. In many ways it is about starting over... Is that really what people want?

The Cowboys already have a lot of the pieces. The defense is good enough to help win a super bowl right now. The RB and offensive line is good enough now (or, for the OL, once Frederick gets back healthy). The real question marks are the QB, WRs, and TEs. That's really about it from a players perspective. This organization has been drafting really well for a while. I think they can fix WR and TE, or at least go a long way towards improving the groups in one offseason.

If QB has to be replaced, that's a big deal. That is a much more important decision for this organization that Head Coach--at least in my opinion. I aware that opinions vary...

That 2 minute drill was embarrassing if that's what they call a 2 min offense...

High schools run a better organized one..

This is ridiculous, how many times do the cowboys team have to suffer because the coaches lack of abilities. Bryan B even stated it.

" As much as I appreciated Jason Garrett going for a fourth down earlier in the game, I was disappointed by the clock management in the final minute. I was watching from our studio, pleading for him to go for the win. Fabian Moreau, the nickel corner for the Commanders, got knocked out of the game"

"What I didn’t understand is, how do you just run two offensive snaps in the final minute of that game?"

Very Poor coaching along with basic play calls will bring us down further, is there anyway to introduce a new playbook? Everyone in the league knows what we are going to run and everyone has found a way to stop us, yet we are doing nothing to change that.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible

its bad when lackey Bryan Broaddus admits it. Its so glaring EVEN HE cant stand it anymore.

If given a choice to replace the head coach or the QB I would choose the QB and it's not even close.
And exactly how successful was this coach when he had a superior quarterback? No disrespect meant to you, but as some have already stated, head coach is the main issue(owner not being taken into account) And in all likely hood a new head coach is probably going to want to draft a quarterback.

I'm operating under the reality that the head coach in Dallas is a puppet. If you think any coach is going to pull the plug on Prescott against Jerry's wishes you are kidding yourself.

The QB has got to go. He is a complete bum in over his head. Upgrade there and all the other issues seem much less significant.

Nobody is under any illusion that anyone but Jerry ultimately calls the shot, but there needs to be a voice in the room who knows what they're doing and can explain to Jerry how offensive football is successfully played in the year 2018.

That isn't currently the case with your boy Garrett running the show.

There's no sense in wasting any draft or financial resources on another QB if he is being chosen by the Garrett/Linehan/Moore triumvirate.

Who said just heave a hail mary?

The coaching staff botched that last drive. It's kind of silly to suggest otherwise.

I mean here's a crazy thought. Why not throw a slant or quick out and get 7-10 more yards making that 47 yard FG a 37 yard FG?

Nah, that wouldn't have helped.

exactly, move it another 20 yards if could, Commanders D was gassed, couldn't stop anything

Just "throwing one up" in the endzone with no established possesion receiver on this team is absolutely idiotic and asking for a quick path to an L.

You don't need to "throw one up" but you had plenty of time to get a few more plays in, and at the very LEAST make it a much closer FG attempt.

They snapped it at the Commanders 46 with 52 seconds left. Completed a 9-yard pass to Beasley and wasted 24 seconds before snapping the next play.

At that point, you're at the 37 with 28 seconds left. At that point, there was clearly no thought of getting any closer to the end zone. It was simply about setting up the FG.

Just asinine clock mismanagement from a head coach who seven years later, is still in over his head in late-game coaching situations.

I was only speaking of people wanting us to just throw one in the endzone, not to the overall clock management.

Replace him with who? What QB past or present in the NFL would make this pre-historic offense go? Even the great Romo, despite his stats, didn't win a damn thing here under this idiotic coach!

We can blame the QB, O line, RB, WRs & TE's all we want. They ALL needed to be better.

But when your coaching staff chokes your ability to put games away AGAIN, then there's your main culprit. It's not like we've seen this a couple times. It's every other game at the very least.

Garrett is a liability.

He should have never been hired in the first place.

I've said that since day 1. He's not head coach material.
