I thought Ward was going to be a penetrating 3 since hes built like Hatcher and Irving. Maybe the goal is to basically have him as a penetrating 1, kinda like Wade does with his NT sometimes in the 3-4 (Ratliff here)

If you have a Lee, healthy Smith, and LVE it gives you some leeway if that was the case.

Whole Lewis thing is overblown. It could just be a motivational technique for all we know. Lewis has talent, maybe Richard's wants to build up some of that dog in him to reach his potential. Who knows.

I realize that Chidobe and jones best corners to insert..Coz Legnth and speed. LEWIS PLAYED the best corner last year, but a move to the Slot, with Brown makes this secondary better..Along with Frazier more snaps and WOODS to FS. .So Lewis gonna play significant snaps.

I DONT KNOW, but Ward at one is a mistake Oakland already made.

  • I like how the coaches are trying to get Michael Gallup the ball on the move. One of his best traits coming out of Colorado State was his ability to separate during his routes. Gallup took Byron Jones completely across the field, which forced Jones to really have to hustle in order just to keep up. Dak Prescott put the ball in a perfect spot that allowed Gallup to continue up the field without breaking stride...
  • Jihad Ward continues to be difficult for Connor Williams to have to deal with. Williams has issues when he misses with his hands, and this causes him to have to lean on Ward in order to slow down his charge. The great equalizer for Williams is that he’s such an athlete that if he gets overextended, he can still recover and not many linemen can do that...
  • I would never think of Tavon Austin as a red zone threat due to his size, but this coaching staff is sure trying. They’re moving Austin around in order to create some 1-on-1 matchups to take advantage of his quickness. Despite working in a small area with bodies around him, Austin was able to make a nice hands catch from Prescott and split two defenders to get into the end zone...

Let’s dont pull another Chaz green
Connor is the guard, he needs to develope more physically which won’t happen for a year but he will be just fine and get better once he does develope his body more

Why is Chaz Green still on the team. If their biggest fear is having to put Chaz Green in the game again then why is he even here? It is mind boggling some of the decisions they clowns continue to make.

OTA stands for “Overly Tired Assessments”. Every year at this time a “shorts and t-shirt star” emerges as “someone to watch”.

I don’t mean to be critical of this coverage. It is good info. I just think the team’s spokespeople tend to say generally the same stuff every year about this time. Until these guys are wearing full pads, I don’t get too excited.

Can't argue with that considering all the evidence we have already.

I say another fluff article from a team employee or fan boy seals it.

A 2nd round DL with big potential (considering the state of things along the line) or a return man / little used WR. Don't really need a news article or a snippet from camp to tell me it's an OK deal.

I've always had my doubts about Conner Williams...and even more about this move to LG. I just don't trust a guy that used to continue to get his butt kicked everyday. You can't tell me the guy isn't mentally soft. That seed has been deeply planted....and isn't going anywhere.

Switzer for Ward looking like a very good move.... so far.
Switzer fumbled in the Raider’s OTA today while surrounded by 5 defenders. They traded him after practice for a bag of Cheetos. And to think last year, Switzer was my pet cat.

Completely disagree. Many successful athletes in all sports have over come obstacles and have a serious chip on their shoulder that will never go away. Did you see the way he finished plays while at Texas. He enjoyed knocking guys on their butt, then giving them another solid shove while they were trying to get up. He’s Not soft.

I love the smell of second-stringers in the OTA morning.

Smells like...8-8...?
