Nothing has changed

im taking the Bills by 14 points.
If I were still betting on the games, I'd take that all day and into the night. I assume you are pissed but BUF beating this team at home by 14 is one hell of a stretch. NE wouldn't do that.

This team has lost 5 games by a total of 22 points.

He can get that in NY. I agree that is the reason he has been staying and in order to change teams, the other team would have to give up two 1sts and that wasn't going to happen.

I have wondered from the beginning of this last off season, which party doesn't want Garrett to be in Dallas more? Can you imagine working for that incompetent and his loud mouth? Garrett can make the money elsewhere and he hasn't looked like a happy man in Dallas. You could see that on his face in All or Nothing when Booger made his "hands off Elliott" announcement.

I think as a person he has affection for Booger and the family but that can just go so far. Garrett has spent his entire HC career doing what Parcells described as "keeping Booger from his tendencies" and that's like spending time with an addict and trying to keep them straight. After a while, you're exhausted.

I am intrigued to see Garrett coach somewhere else. What if he's successful? What does that say about the head clown?
do you think mara would cut off his own nose to spite jerry's face. after the garrett performance yesterday, why would any cognitive owner or gm want to hire him.

O'Quinn was an assistant coach on offense I believe for years. I think he started out as a quality control coach. Which means one of his duties was to get the game films ready for review.
He was promoted from within to ST's coach. Which at the time he earned it working his way up. Or seemed to earn it. But then it was apparent he was in over his head, but nothing was done. I guess Jerry's theory of a coach in training was still in effect.
Just my opinion but I believe Booger holds all coaching in low regard and has only seen the need for high quality coaching when he needed something personal out of it, like not losing money and new digs.

I think he may want Garrett, just long enough to build a roster.

I've seen far worse and how many really put any stock in that 3 equal parts of the team? One, for sure because he's always leaned on his ST.

Since that's the first time that's happeded, I would like to see the other 30 STC's under those conditions and see how they'd respond.

The thing I would fault Garrett for more than that is not getting in the ref's face on that first tripping call. He should have gone ballistic and over the top on that and just maybe they don't feel so comfortable throwing it a second time. That's why they do it, just like basketball coaches at away games, set the tone. No call has ever been reversed because a coach lost it but that does have effect. That also creates fire in the players.

I am tired of watching him look like he could be watching The Nutcracker just as well as a football game. You think Johnson or Parcells is going to accept that call without a fight? Hell, even Campo and Gailey might have gone nuts. Wade would just be thinking 'mmmmmm……. burgers'.

Specifically an OL and to bring the QB along. We dis him here but the guy has an UDFA and 4th round QB on his resume and not many can say that.

Garrett also has impressed several teams and highly respected coaches so he is not without his own collateral. Plus, he's put up with Booger longer than any other HC has had the stomach for so he is broken in around incompetency.

Other FO's work together, this one has to work to get along with the owner.

When Booger made that comment about Garrett getting offers, he wasn't kidding. Garrett has networked very well among the owners and he presents himself as a politician and quite a few like that. That job is image for the team as well and a reflection on the owner and FO.

But forget all of that. This league turns over 20-25% of the HC's every year and posters think he won't get offers? Look how many jobs Norv Turner has had and hasn't won jack since he left the Cowboys. The NFL recycles.

No argument here at all. What is so amusing about the backlash is that everyone trashes the HC and the fact the Cowboys can't beat the winning teams and when that shows itself again, they get up in arms….all over again......and again.

Were they expecting a HC that they have no respect for to all of the sudden step up and prove them wrong against that HC in his own lair and conditions he'd hoped for? That was Belichick's perfect storm and the reason they usually go to the Big Dance when they have homefield.

I predicted the Cowboys would win but I didn't anticipate the weather being like that. I thought a little rain but that was different.

I understand your point, it does get repetitive and old. I think part of that is because we still are mathematically in the playoffs and have a shot, you would like to believe we have as good a chance as anyone else when the games are played.

I'll be the first to admit I dont care for Garrett, I think hes had plenty of time to show what he is and this is what we are under him, however, when the games are played I still hope for the best and am rooting for this team the whole way through. When they ultimately fall like yesterday? I'm pissed/frustrated about them losing and want Garrett gone yesterday, but I know we are tied to him until further notice.

I support the team regardless, I feel the same as the people who want Garrett gone but I also know there's no bother to post that I want him fired when most feel the same way already.

I respect your stance as well that, in fewer words, is like yea this is what we have, this is what we should expect and it is what it is for now. No need in beating a dead horse.

I think we have people who on the other side or the argument still believe in him and want him here and while I dont agree with that at all, I wont go out of my way to start a repetitive argument about why they are crazy for wanting him or thinking change isnt the answer.

Your point is valid in it all and I can see your stance working fine If everyone accepted the fact that Garrett is ours until the end of the season and we should just deal with it until then because we cant change it.

Bottom line is these next few weeks will be much like the earlier part of the year. Ups and downs, kind of hanging around in every game and we will win some but probably lose one or two more. We can win any game but as we have seen we can lose to lesser teams like the Jets too. Its gonna be all kinds of craziness around here until the season ends and a final decision is made on Garrett.

Then? Well then we will probably continue to argue who is hired and what we like and dont like which will bring on some good debates and some petty arguments as well.

Life as a Cowboy fan is all I can.
