Now is the time

An offense without defense is a waste or at least poorly managed resources.

Time will tell if we focus enough on defense. Ultimately the results will determine.

But I’d argue our dysfunctional ownership appears to still operate as though the Triplets won those championships.
No guarantees but I like what they've done with the coaches.

As an Iggles fan, I don't know the answer to this.

Are they really on a yacht right now?

Coaching can’t turn a turd into a tulip. Must have more talent for better coaching to impact results.
We just have to wait and see. To be honest I wasn't real impressed with Williams Pickens and Booker until about mid season.

Last year was actually pretty good.

Javonte Williams 1201 yards 4.8 Y/A
George Pickens 93/1429
Tyler Booker 17 GS
Donovan Ezeirauku 9 GS 40 T 9 TFL
Quinnen Williams
Kenny Clark
Jadeveon Clowney 12 TFL 8.5 sacks

All added last year. Let's keep it going this year
In a stats vs wins competition, give me wins.

Here are some stats to consider:
  • Since 2000, the Cowboys have only made the playoffs 38% of the time.
  • In the last two seasons combined, we are 14-19-1.
  • The good offense we have has already shown it alone cant get us into the playoffs.

Williams and Pickens both made an impact almost immediately early in season.

But when you have to score 40 points to have a better opportunity to win those efforts aren’t enough.

Yes, each season is on its own merit. And if we have a productive offseason progress could be made on defense.

I know how you feel and respect what your saying I don't see it as being Negative I see it as being truthful. I bought into the "All In " and when Jerry did what he did I was really PO and I didn't care if we won or loss I just went through the season like some with a bad attitude. Im a little cautious this time and yes Im hopeful cause Im a Cowboy fan. He did make the try for Max and I would have been Po if he would have given up two 1st so Im still slowly sitting back eating my popcorn just to see what he does. He doesn't have to sign Super stars but he needs to find guys that fit his system Guys that can come in and replace the guys we already have.
Jerry is going to restructure at least $96M. He has already done $66M with Dak, CD and Smith.

He still needs at least another $30M for the rookie class, the start of the season, and some stop gab FA's. With that said $96M with no significant FA's added.

Pickens playing on the tag is beyond stupid.

Not negotiating with Pickens is a sign of incompetence.

Starting negotiations after FA starts is malpractice.

Starting negotiations after the draft and considered yourself sucked again.

The Bravo Eugenia is Jerry’s 250m yacht

During Covid the family was on the yacht for long period of time, including the weeks leading up to the draft. The draft was virtual that year and the Cowboy war room was on the yacht. We drafted CeeDee

So, it’s become a meme that Jerry and Stephen goof off on the yacht for those weeks every year instead of preparing for the draft

The yacht is currently docked in Palm Beach

They have traditionally taken a spring vacation on Jethro’s yacht. And he’s conducted drafts from the yacht.

He conducted 1 draft from his big boat. That was the covid year. Don't use that against him.
No I am not defending him. Just telling the truth, as that was not a big deal.
Last year I believe they did not take their vacation during the time of FA or the draft. I believe they only done that a few times as well.

And even with an improved defense edging up closer to average or above average our QB and offense are unproven commodity in playoffs probably still needing to carry a lesser defense.

History has proven which you so accurately reported last month that 82% of SB Champs had a great defense. Most likely most of the other SB champs had Elite QB’s.

Without an Elite defense and or QB it’s unlikely the Cowboys will emerge as SB champs. And it’s totally baseless for us to even be in the conversation for anything more than an outlier playoff contender.

Last year's offensive makeover was different to my eyes at least from what they've done in the past. This year the plan is to do the same on defense. Will they have similar results? Time will tell. I've been watching them since the Staubach years and suffered through the Larry Lacewell years but if it looked like there wasn't any possibly for improvement it wouldn't be worth my time.

It’s no secret that having a great season starts with having great off-season. We have now entered the most important period of off-season. NOW is the time when great off-seasons are forged. Not in July. NOW through May.

In the next few weeks, we will see if our front office is serious when they say this year will be different. It won’t happen at a bus press conference, a radio show or impromptu interview at league meetings.

Our off-season will 100% be judged by the action (or inaction) of our FO starting NOW. If they give us another hide out on free agency, taking few chances in trades or cuts, and take another medical redshirt in the draft, we will know nothing has changed.

If they finally take action on a plan to get better through wise and meaningful FA and drafting immediate help in the draft, that’s a good step forward. We will see very soon.

Now is the time. Not for talk or bus press conferences. NOW is the time for action.
Now is the time to wait, as usual and watch all the other teams get better in FA.
