Now it is go time.

Loved seeing Lloyd Bridges in that clip!

I remember him from "Sea Hunt" when I was a kid and he was classic in "Airplane": "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue." :lmao2:

They've been tough games. This team's been going all year, we're just getting beat in close games by better teams. I don't know what else to tell you.

So what? The next three games are going to be tough games. So will that be your excuse if we go 1-4 or 0-5, "well they were tough games"?. Time to get going means time to start playing hard and winning. But I guess we have lowered our expectations so much that now its ok if our "get going" mean losing to tough teams...

I wonder if the thought process would be the same if our final three games were against the Raiders, Chiefs and Commanders and we had lost to Philadelphia, San Diego and New Orleans earlier in the schedule.

Give me a break. Nobody needs an excuse to get beat by better teams. And quit mistaking *****ing loudest for having highest expectations. They are not the same things.

If you think we haven't been playing hard, then you haven't been paying any attention. You can cut the season into whatever segments you think best support your 'curl up and die' position as much as you want, but the fact remains that we're 8-5 with three to play and we win the division if we win out. I'm not spending time worrying about butt-hurt prognostications. I only care about playing out the string and seeing where that gets us.

well you've been in denial all season why wake up now.

This team is either a) not good enough or b) does not want it enough. Those are your two options, there are no more.

Because you call it quits everyone else should? Sorry I would rather go down with the team than to give up on them but each to their own.

Good for you. My whole point to begin with here is that go time was two weeks ago, we had people posting here about it back then, and then there were those who posted last week about it being go time. And guess what if we lose this week there will be some people saying go time starts next week with our final two games. Go time was two weeks ago when we could have been fighting for a 1st round buy. So I'll say it again: this team either is not good enough or does not want it enough. Those are the ONLY two explanations.

Now, could they turn it around, yes, win in New Orleans and they have a good chance of making it to the playoffs.

But lets not trivialize the last two games, they were go time games and losing them was a big deal and says a lot about this team and what the rest of the season holds.

Balls. You've never seen me deny anything re: this team. We've been a winning team or in wait-and-see mode all season. And I've been the first to say that we're just not as good a team as people want to think. I've never had any problems coming to terms with that.

My problems usually stem from people who have no idea what they're talking about blaming things that are so obviously not the problem when the real reasons for losing are always pretty obvious.

My secondary problem is with fans who are as faithless as they are ignorant. Panicking and racing to be the first to give in because you don't have the fortitude to support a team that's still playing hard makes no sense to me. Pretending that that attitude earns you cache on a message board is even worse. A good example of this is fans who think the only options left for the season are 1. not good enough and 2. don't want it enough. The '3. maybe they are good enough option' may not look likely right now, but to pretend it doesn't exist because you lack the courage to stick by your team is straight-up pathetic.

I have to admit that, in the back of my mind, I have a feeling this season is going to end badly (and early). However, until we are completely eliminated from the playoffs, I'm going down with the team also. Root like hell the next three weekends and hope for the best.

Not trivializing anything. We play 16 games at the end we see where we are. Were those big games the last 2 weeks yes and because the team failed we left the door open for NY and in some ways GB. I pretty much think it is go time any time you line up on the field to play the game since there are only 16games they tend to all be pretty important.

That could end up being the case that it ends bad or we could see this team turn it around. Last week people started talking about the Cards turning it around, after monday night and 7 turnovers I have not heard much about them turning it around. Things happen quickly in the NFL and with 3 games to go and still in control of their own fate they have a chance to do something. Those who have given up fine that is their choice.

I think most of the contention in this thread isn't fans being negative, but the fact that go time was two weeks ago. Because that was apparently ignored, it is now scramble for your life and pray your biggest rivals lay a few eggs along the way time.

Or the Cowboys could just go out and win. We really need no help at this time, if and it is a big if but if Dallas wins out they win the division no matter what NY or Philly do. If the Cowboys do lose to the Saints then the door is open for NY who would then have to win out to get a WC.

Sure and like always, I expect them to win Saturday night, regardless of whom they are playing. I expect they can compete with everybody in the league.

But now it's much more critical because the real go time was squandered, losing to a much lesser team like the Giants, which will rightfully cause anyone to question where they're headed. If putting and end to your rivals season, securing your spot in the division lead as well as in the playoffs isn't go time, then go time doesn't exist.
