Are there still those who contend that Bledsoe is a HOF QB?

Are there still those who believe Bledsoe will somehow carry us to a Super Bowl?

Are there those who still believe it was a good decision to go into the season with only two QBs?

For me, the answers to these questions are No, No and No. They were prior to the season and yesterday only confirmed these points even more so in Jacksonville.

This is not to say that Bledsoe can not do what is needed to get us to the playoffs but lets finally stop with this BS about Bledsoe being a guy who can rise above and win games. Bledsoe had plenty of time yesteday. His INTs did not come under pressure. Our OL did not have a great game but they pass protected pretty well. We all knew they wouldn't be able to run. He is what he is. Bledsoe looked bad yesterday and that worries me for a couple of reasons. If Bledsoe isn't hurt, then why the issues with the back? We were playing in a very warm setting. If he's got issues with the back on a day that was 90 degrees, what happens in November and December when it's actually cold? The decision to go with two QBs, at least right now, doesn't not look to be a good one IMO.

I would also add and really, turn the discussion towards the fact that I do still believe Bledsoe is the best and only chance we have this season. Romo has talent but he will not come in and fair better IMO. He is inexperienced and clearly preseason is not regular season. IF we are forced to play Romo, it's going to be a long season IMO. Romo, to me, is not a viable option if we intend to get to the playoffs. If we decide to sacrafice the season to get Romo ready, then OK. That's one thing but if we do that, lets be clear that the season is forgone.

I'd say yes only to the last question. Bledsoe is a pretty good backup.

If he's healthy. However, if there is a problem with his back, it's not going to get better as the season goes on. I'm really worried about this thing. I was not aware of any issues with his back while in TC.

Why would Henson still being on the team even remotely matter at this point?

If he hadn't appreciably improved since the Chicago game, and by evidence we have he didn't, was that any better than what Bledsoe did yesterday?

Its going to take at least 2 or 3 more complete meltdowns until Bill even considers going to Romo. I don't think Henson would even be a blip in the back of his mind.

I'm not sure that what we saw yesterday was a representative sample of the season ahead. Or, as you call it, reality.

This was far from a typical performance by this particular QB, based on what we saw last season. I would also predict that we will see about twice as many balls going to TO as we saw yesterday. Anyway, there's no reason to believe that Bledsoe will total more INT's than TD's on the season, much less 3 times as many INT's.

I'm more concerned about our lack of a pass rush than about Bledsoe.

Where exactly do you get Drew Henson from a bad showing from Bledsoe? I hope your not letting agenda sneak in here.

We have two QBs on the roster, of which, one has never thrown a regular season pass. The other may have back issues. Henson is not a part of this discussion, except in your mind.

WE HAVE TWO QBs ON THE ROSTER.

I thought we had decent pass rush. Not spectacular but decent. The one thing I didn't see yestereay was Ellis with pressure. I didn't really see much of that but Ware had some pressure I thought.

I'm not worried about Bledsoes health or even his mind.

I'm worried about the fact that we dont have a good enough o-line. I'm not saying they're hideous or human turnstyles where he has no shot, but I'm saying if he's to have any shot at all, he needs to be behind about as good an o-line as an NFL team can muster. Even then he might likely fail when push comes to shove.

But if you put him behind an o-line thats anything less than polished you're going to be looking at a number of games where he looks like hell.

If he was still 22 and this was year one or two of a five year plan it would be one thing. Not unlike us back in 89/90. But when you're trying to "win now" with the long term track record that he has, if you think you can do it with a patchwork of o-linemen who have all but 0 starts together as a unit (not to mention some question marks on certain players abilities individually), I'm not sure how you can be surprised when it dont go as planned.

As do nine other NFL teams. Yet you continue to act like this is some frivolous, unique trait of Parcells and the Cowboys.

I still have yet to hear a convincing argument from you why adding a third quarterback would even remotely change the situation.

Now that we've had a dose of reality....

Heres a dose of reality for you.

Bledsoe isnt as bad as he played yesterday. That was easily his worst game as a Cowboy.

Do you honestly think Bledsoe is going to play like that week in week out? Just missing wide open guys and throwing 3 ints a week.

Bledsoe is the reason why we lost yesterday but I think he'll be the reason Dallas wins a lot of games this year as well.

Knowing the kind of player he is and see'ing how he reacts to adversity I believe he will come back strong against Washington and show everybody that his game yesterday was an absolute FLUKE.

Maybe the clipboard isn't being held effectively enough?

Let's be honest here. You have yet to hear anything at all unless it comes out of your own mouth.

Time will definatly tell if this was a good move or not but right now, at least in my opinion, it ain't looking so good.

OK, if you say so.

Ok, so we promote Matt Baker from the PS.

Feel better?

Or is there a QB capable of winning s SB out there on the street somewhere and we just haven't found him?

What does Bledsoe playing poorly have to do with a third guy holding a clipboard?

I hope you are right.

I think it was his worst game as a Cowboy.

Some of it had to be lack of practice time with Owens. Some of it was his back. Maybe some of it was rain related. But some of it was him.

That might well happen. But then what happens in some of the games later on like we he goes on the road to play the divisional foes? Prolly be like we saw yesterday again. Maybe not the 3 picks, but the offense might still struggle mightily to put 4 solid quaraters together. It's hard enough for proven offenses to do that much less piece meal ones.

Just like the end of last year. Everyone says the o tanked once Flo went down. Yet I notice we still scored some points offensively at *home* regardless.. like against KC and Denver. It's primarily the road games against the better D's where this all comes back to haunt us.

It's not a matter of me saying so its a matter of knowing that if Bledsoe has the amount of time he had yesterday on a weekly basis he is going to have a big year.

He just absolutely choked yesterday and played the worst game of his life.

But I don't see Bledsoe missing wide open guys and throwing tons of picks with that kind of time to throw.

He just choked yesterday plain and simple.

Good thing we got 15 games left and the Giants lost and hopefully Washington will lose tonight.
