Interesting.

I think the allegations would be pretty tough to prove in court.

Cops would need a search warrant for Eli's house(s) and find the real stuff as proof the other stuff was fake. It could be done. I just wonder if a judge would sign off on such a warrant.

If proven true in a court of law however, Eli and the Giants would be a real trouble.

I read in the article that they already have emails from the actual NY Giants email account of the equipment manager...with him talking about certain items and referencing them as "BS" items. As in..phony...fake...lie...

Since they are a rival, I thought it would be okay to post this. The Giants team, and Eli in particular, are being sued for knowingly selling phony football gear as "game-used" stuff.

The story broke today courtesy of NY Post.

http://nypost.com/2014/01/30/eli-and-giants-created-fake-memorabilia-suit/

Good Old Fashioned Greed

Giants are definitely involved; this will get swept under the rug because it can open up an ugly can of worms regarding other teams past and current "memorabilia".

"Inselberg was indicted in 2011 for memorabilia fraud for selling bogus used sport jerseys from teams.

But federal prosecutors in Rockford, Ill., dropped all the charges in May 2013, telling the judge that “prosecution was no longer appropriate in light of some new facts that were pointed out to us by defense counsel.”

The case was jettisoned two days after Inselberg’s defense lawyers told the court that Giants staffers had lied to the grand jury that indicted him about their relationship with him, in a bid to cover up for the team’s own fake-memorabilia sales.

Wednesday’s lawsuit is Inselberg’s attempt at retribution against the Giants.

The new suit alleges that Wagner, along with Skiba and his brother, Ed, also an equipment manager, were told by team brass to lie to federal investigators and the grand jury about how much Giants sports gear they sold him over the years."

There probably is not any real stuff. Why sign it, then hide it, only to sell a fake. You can't come out later and sale it again. Why sign a real and a fake.
If he did keep any real stuff, I'm sure it's put away somewhere else.
It's not like art work to have forgeries.

But there are people that would believe it too.

at least 16 jerseys, maybe more if one rips and they change at halftime.

Yeah it was rhetorical lol but sheesh... So dumb right.... They could change them at half time just to supply the "game worn" ..... Idiots

If we're going to try to do this, I would advise not to sell any "game used" Sean Lee gear.

The General Counsel of the Giants has already submitted a court petition saying that Eli's football reputation is phony so the gear should have been also.

Kidding...
