Their Oline stinks and it doesn’t look like they did enough at WR. Plus the Cowboys pas rush is one of the best in the league. But this was a sound beating and I sat through the pouring rain right until the end. It was beautiful..

Yes...the Giants didn't do us any favors in the long run.

This is the WORST kind of game (as far as wins go) to have in your opener in the modern era: with no to little preseason play, the opener is essentially the modern day preseason game. It's more about getting your team woken up, and knocking the rust off. The freaking BENGALS almost got shut out. the Chiefs looked bad.The Eagles looked bad.

This game helps us with a W....but it wasn't a taste of true competition we needed, and very well could get our guys overconfident....and may cost us a win in the next week or 2.

Not saying I'd trade places with the Chiefs or Bengals...who are no doubt gonna come put next week more in mid season intensity....while we will struggle to fight overconfidence in our 22 to 25 year olds.... but I WOULD change with Philly, who got the W as WELL as getting the wake the F up call every team, including us, will have to go thru early on. We had a similar opener with Romo one year where we got like 10 sacks and were sure we'd coast to the SuperBowl.... and didn't even make it to the NFCCG. A win is a win....but again, woulda been nice if the Giants had functioned like an NFL team yesterday. We faced NO adversity to overcome, and can only imagine how full of themselves they're feeling right now.

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll didn’t have the Giants ready to play Sunday night.

Their team didn’t belong on the field with the Dallas Cowboys in this pathetic 40-0 ***-kicking to open the season at MetLife Stadium — the most lopsided Week 1 loss in franchise history.

“Man,” one Cowboys player said while shaking his head, “those [guys] really scored zero points.”

The offense and special teams, actually, didn’t belong on any football field. They were incapable of executing. They couldn’t block, catch or make sound decisions.

“Got beat all the way around, coaching to playing, and I accept that,” Daboll said. “[We] could never really string it together in any area. We just got skunked.”

This wasn’t all that different from the Giants’ last game against a division rival, though. Remember?

I guess so much for playing starters in pre-season. can't recall how many threads and posts and comments on this.

Gotta keep your foot on the pedal. The coaches and team are smart enough to know there will be a lot of tight games. This was an exception.

The vets are...it's the young ones that concern me.

It's just that this kinda stuff happens every year league wide. Teams will get early blowout wins.... and then fans/media/ayers will say "this means nothing, we gotta come out more focused next week", and then boom, they come out flat and lose a game, and THEN they refocus and get into gear.

We will see....but with exception of Tom Brady teams or some teams that are led by HOF type coaches that COMMANDS respect of every player (which are very few and rare) then this is something that's just so common to see after a win like this.

We're any of YOU wise enough at 21, 22, 23 to not let something like this go to your head? Was I? I mean, I was....but we're any of YOU knuckleheads?

It's only one game but there are lots of reasons to be optimistic. Dak had ZERO snaps during pre-season and I think it showed. It is hard to duplicate game speed in practice. I think he will improve. Wow. That defense plays fast. It definitely reminds me of the SB-winning defense in '92. Players just flying to the ball and quality depth behind the starters.

Turnovers. Turnovers and Turnovers.

The blocked kick for 6, the pick 6 and an extra FG had us up 16-0.

Giants aren’t built to come back and score tons of points.

Last year, they ran the kept games close, waited for you to make one mistake and capitalize.
That blocked kick for a TD was the game changer, IMO. Couple of penalties killed their first drive to set that up. I have no idea one their second drive why they went away with what was working, which was running the ball right through the heart of our defense. I'm sure we made some adjustments, like bringing in Mazi on the second drive.

If we have more games like this, which I said a few weeks ago, we will have 3-5 blowout wins this season, Micah won't be so worn down come playoff time. That might hurt his chances of winning the DPLOY though.

I’m hoping games like the niners in the playoffs are the driving force and this is just a stop along the way. It’s a long season. McCarthy and Quinn know this team needs to stay motivated for the next 19 games.

And folks really believed Daboll is a better coach than McCarthy lol
Daboll may be about to go through what Parcells did in Dallas. Great first season debut just by improving the culture, coaching staff and mindset... but reality sinking in on sophomore year that the roster needs an overhaul. They are stuck with that Daniel Jones contract.

Possible.

Feels like the playoffs were just like a month or 2 ago. Can't believe a new season already underway.

Time flies

Yes, winning your opener in a division road game 40-0 is a bad thing. Obviously.

This was exactly what I said in a thread I started yesterday... I was amazed at the fact that the New York fans over at their blue blue message board thought they had a huge coaching advantage.. I was baffled honestly... Talk about delusion.. I'm sorry but big mike is pretty damn consistent and has an amazingly detailed program, he deserves way more credit, and Quinn is the best period..

LOL I am looking forward to, "Sounds for the sidelines" to see which player said, "“Man,” one Cowboys player said while shaking his head, “those [guys] really scored zero points.”"!
