I loved the win for sure, and things like the TE's dropping easy passes in that weather were really small nitpicks. But, these days with most starters not playing in preseason, the first few games of the season arent great barometers of how teams end up. Ill take a 40-0 any day though.

I'm surprised how disorganized and sloppy NYG looked.

Your OL getting whooped on every play can make things fall apart, but they looked like a pretty well-coached football team last year.
Yeah, I am shocked at last nights results. I thought Dabol would have that team ready and it would have been a lot closer game. As the old saying goes, on anything can happen on any given Sunday.

We’re living in their heads rent-free. Like Rodgers told Bears fans …… “We own you.”

He actually had the team ready. They came out and matriculated down the field and were stopped by penalties. The blocked FG returned for a TD changed leading to being behind & completely shifted momentum.

What he wasn’t able to do was settle his team down after that and wrest momentum back, or at least neutralize the momentum.

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll didn’t have the Giants ready to play Sunday night.

Their team didn’t belong on the field with the Dallas Cowboys in this pathetic 40-0 ***-kicking to open the season at MetLife Stadium — the most lopsided Week 1 loss in franchise history.

“Man,” one Cowboys player said while shaking his head, “those [guys] really scored zero points.”

The offense and special teams, actually, didn’t belong on any football field. They were incapable of executing. They couldn’t block, catch or make sound decisions.

“Got beat all the way around, coaching to playing, and I accept that,” Daboll said. “[We] could never really string it together in any area. We just got skunked.”

This wasn’t all that different from the Giants’ last game against a division rival, though. Remember?

I'm not certain I agree with this premise, or the prevalent thinking here that their coach is not good.

If a coach draws up a plan to win on any specific play, and the entire offensive failed, is this the coach or the players who failed at their assignments?

Last year proved the head coach of the Giants could coach his team to wins. I'm not saying he deserves to have the Lombardi renamed after him. But he surely put players in the right place to win games and make the play-offs.

Last night the better team came out and beat his team in every facet. He didn't become a bad coach over the off season. He faced a much better team that was focused and out for blood.

Last year's final game isn't the same team for him.

This next game against the Jets isn't the same game for Dallas.

The bald guy on the video - The Carton Show - is like so many who immediately blame someone for the loss. Also note he said Dallas was blitzing with four defensive linemen. So I wouldn't buy into anything that guy says.

I recall a few years ago the Cowboys started off with a horrific first game. Then went on to a terrible season. Seems that game last night looked oddly similar to the 2000 opening game against the Eagles where Dallas was beaten 41-14.

So was that the coaching or just a woefully terrible roster that couldn't win in the individual battles?

WoodsGirl, this has nothing to do with you. It is about the skin headed guy on the video over reacting to the coach and not the roster given to him by the GM. We, of all franchises, should recognize that dilemma.

I read it 10 times to make sure I understood that you were trying to spin a 40-0 win as something worse than a lesser result lol.

I understand it, it's just dumb.
Read it 20 then.

Takes some people longer to "get stuff" than others. No shame in that. All I ask is that you try YOUR best.

I could read it 1 billion times.

"A 40 point loss might cost us games down the road because it wasn't competitive enough" will be dumb every time lol

Once the FG got blocked they looked flat the rest of the game. Then it continued to get worse.

Just plan domination on speicla teams and defense. Their problem has always been the OL. If I remember correctly they were pretty trash tier last year and near the bottom. Why Jones spent the season running for his life. Didn't follow them closely this post season so dunno if they tried to fix the OL or not

Last year we beat the colts 55 to something.

Next week we nearly lose to the the Texans....the worst team in the league.

Lol.

Those who don't learn from history....are dumb.

Some guys are just really great at the Xs and Os but are not great leaders. Those types make great coordinators under a Head Coach who is a leader but make horrible Head Coaches. I’m not really sure where McCarthy fits in but he has a true leader of men running his defense. I hope Jerry can keep Quinn long enough to make him the Head Coach.
Isn’t what you said in the first few lines true of Quinn? I think he knows this about himself. I hope he stays with us but at DC.

The idea that the Colts game had anything to do with the Texans game is stupid.

By your logic, no team should ever blow an opponent out because it puts them at more risk to lose the next week.

It's total nonsense masquerading as some kind of insight lol. So dumb.

It's only one game but there are lots of reasons to be optimistic. Dak had ZERO snaps during pre-season and I think it showed. It is hard to duplicate game speed in practice. I think he will improve. Wow. That defense plays fast. It definitely reminds me of the SB-winning defense in '92. Players just flying to the ball and quality depth behind the starters.
stop with the no preseason nonsense. there are a whole bunch of quarterbacks who actually played some in PS and look as bad or worse than Prescott, some who by the way had big shiny new contracts. you know bigger than Prescott.

It might have had more to do with wet environment being on the road with big lead and like 3-4 drops.. When you have a big lead you play safe the play calls were very conservative because of both weather and game circumstance.

umm ok add in a newly tweaked offense is part of it,. Rust was NOT an issue and I bet he would tell you that... Just imagine if it was a dry environment and the tight ends caught the ball, plus the one KT dropped.. I'm sorry he didn't look rusty it just looked like all the things I was talking about had nothing to do with preseason and that gets old..

Not buying it doesn't matter saw the proof on the field with the rest of the other teams...
