1) I am still amazing a team that was 12 million over the cap (Eagles) were able to land player who lead all S with interceptions in 2020. I have to believe there was relationship with Smith agent and Eagles because Dallas has been looking for turnover S for about 25 years (Darren Woodson had 12 ints from '04-'06).
2) Golladay is dynamic and has potential to be impact player for them. Impact players changes the trajectory of a team and this one signing puts Giants into conversation of being a team who could make noise.
3) Washington Defense is already best in division and they go ahead and sign the #1 rated CB in FA. Then add Fitzpatrick who is unpredictable and crazy enough to put together a season that puts Washington in running for division.

Now we come to Cowboys. Team that just invested their well being and "all-chips in" regardless if they want to be in that position or not by signing Dak to monster contract. Dak now makes 4 times as much as any other QB in the division - so their window is NOW. To show fans how committed they are to winning championship now they added several players we had to google because we never heard about them. Neal would be lone exception but is he SS or LB? If we can't say which position he is its possible he isn't good at either position. Again, when your team is all-in why not be the team who signs the leading interception S in league for measly $5 mill year?? Dallas couldn't beat Jacksonville offer of 7th round pick for Malcom Brown?? The Jones continue to build their case of lacking self awareness and it should surprise nobody if we are revisiting these issues when we watch other teams play deep into playoffs.

A total unique and fresh perspective. Totally deserving of it's own thread.

1. The Eagles have to sign someone just to attempt to stay over .500 in the division.
2. Golliday is a great signing but he is almost always hurt and misses multiple games. Giants can be competitive but they still have a ton of holes to fill.
3. Commanders are the biggest threat in the division. Fitzpatrick is streaky but never seems to hold down a job, solid qb play would go a long ways for them.
4. Cowboys have limited cap space, but made some good signings. For those we signed on the D-line they are considerably better against the run then what we had lining up for us last year. Neal could be dynamic but injury concerns. I think we have positioned ourselves decently and now to focus on the draft.

Depends on how you look at it.

Washington - Fitzpatrick has never been to the playoffs, Samuel is solid but not elite. Jackson is a good corner but a minor upgrade over Darby

New York - Not sold on Golladay

Philly - Harris had one solid year

Not saying any or all of these guys will boom or bust. Just saying they aren’t ahead of us or equal to us

And if Dak signed with any of those teams, we’d be in trouble.
I forgot, did the deal fall through? I thought we signed the #1 free agent at the QB position.

Like you said, he will add an X type receiver that they haven’t add since Plaxico shot himself, haha. Galloday will open up the field for Slayton, Engram, Shepard and Barkley. Adding Kyle Rudolph was a sneaky little signing too that will help them a lot. They also picked up John Ross on the cheap who is a lighting bolt IF he can stay healthy which he has yet to do.

They’re meeting Adoree Jackson today, god I hope they don’t sign him, I don’t know where they would get them money but if they do they will most likely have one of the best CB duo’s in the country.

Their O line and QB are huge question marks and hopefully they still suck or we could have our hands full.

I don’t bet with emotions so it’s not like I’ll be pulling for NY unless Dallas was out of the picture but that Galloday signing was huge.Normally I bet on Dallas and bet on them every year to win the SB just cuz I like losing money but they are favored to win the division at +100, then Washington, Philthy and Giants last at +525. I have no idea how the Philthy is favored over the Giants but I may take a flyer on the Giants and drop a few bills on them. If they lose, I assume it will be the Cowboys that win but if the Giants win at least I get something out of it to buy all my alcohol to drown my sorrows with. If Washington or Philthy wins, I’ll find a tall building.

If we're anything above absolute trash on defense and I think we run away with the Division. Dak is so far ahead of the other QBs in the NFCE, it's really not even close. And add Dak with the best WR core, two solid RBs, solid but not spectacular TEs, and good O-Line (when healthy) and I think we have a top 5 offense this year if we can keep Dak alive.

Stupid is as stupid does but everyone gets what they want

the Joneses get a ‘relevant’ team so they keep minting money

Dak is greedy and gets to count his money

stupid Cowboy fans like us get to root for the mediocrity we want
Thank you a million. I am glad people realize this. This while 26 year dog and pony show is to stay in the headlines, winning a SB will never happen with this current setup. I am happy I saw the 3 I did. What’s that saying fail quickly. Jerry just doesn’t want to take any chances. This is a common problem in business. Just look at Microsoft from when Gates left to 2014. They were all windows, windows, windows. They refused to adopt the mobile wave. Resting on their install base. They hired Nadella he embraced the mobile and cloud and now they are the strongest and most diversified tech giant. Apple is all consumer product iPhone heavy.. still the best Google has two great products search and YouTube.
Jerry is too afraid to take a chance and be great he just wants to be mediocre. This is classic incentive and motivation. A close to 80 year old does not want to rock the boat and win a SB as he already has three. He does not care why don’t all these fans get it? He just wants the status quote.

Washington won the offseason every year in the early 2000s. They still couldn’t make the playoffs.

From Deion to Albert Haynesworth and Clinton Portis. Every year they made a splash and every year it didn’t matter.

Nothing to see here.

Hate to say this because it kills me, but the deadskins have been doing a much better job on talent acquisition since Rivera has been there.
