NYG, Phil &Wash had better FA than Dallas

1) Dallas couldn't beat Jacksonville offer of 7th round pick for Malcom Brown??

This was an issue for me. There are some teams that have no problem trading away late picks for decent, proven players and we aren’t one of them. It sucks, especially given the need.

Considering we win the comp olympics every year, I don’t see the issue with giving up later picks.

It should have been difficult. They didn't have a quarterback and they drafted a defensive lineman.
Damn, yeah if Herbert were there, I’d feel the same way as RG3 going into his sophomore year. Outlook back then was rough.

How does that represent an improvement over baseline? That's the ONLY thing that matters here.
Your baseline has Dak already as the QB, when in reality, there was Gilbert & DiNucci as the only ones on the roster. A move had to be made.

I get that, but they weren't any good with Dak either, and this defense hasn't gotten any better.

giants, eagles and Commanders are over rated.
none of the players signed by those losers are better than Dak.
none.
Terrell Basham was a steal...young athletic versatile DE who could also play OLB.
just scratching the surface.
Watkins and Urban are good, young DTs.
none THE answer but will help.
Keanu Neal could prove to be the best s around these parts in awhile.
Nsehke is a really good OT....but because he signed with us....no one says that.
unless its the "homers".
i would still rather have CB Jourdan Lewis than not.

we were supposed to be living under the decade of feathered dominance of the mighty undefeated unscored upon eagles.
now its washington.
we've never been big spenders in f/a.
we used to ditch draft picks like pennys.
we were bad last year because of injuries.
not a excuse...reality.
those people are back.
we have the best QB in the division.
stop hating your team.

screw the skins.
screw the giants.
screw the eagles.
screw'm all.
:starspin:COWBOYS DAMN IT:starspin:

Meh, I will wait until these teams see the field before I put forth judgement. How many times have we seen big stars signed to teams or these "dream teams" assembled, create massive amounts of preseason media hype, just to watch them fizzle out during the season? Time will tell, but I'll wait.

Can we wait till after the draft to speak on who won the Paper Championship?
Not really, it’s no different after the draft. Most players drafted don’t make immediate impacts, it really takes 2-3 years later to see who won the draft.

Mine as well start now, at least with most FA’s you have an idea of what you’re getting.

Didn't we trade a 7th for Robert Quinn a couple of years ago?

The Commanders worry me, but the other two? Not really. Every team has concerns, and this time of year is always mostly speculative. Besides, no matter what Dallas does, there are ALWAYS threads crying about how every future opponent has done so much more to improve themselves.

Our defense in 2020 was what, 31st? 30th? Just by changing DC we SHOULD be a few wins better. We’ve added veteran depth on the DL, a starting safety, and will probably add 1or 2 difference makers from the remainder of FA and then the draft. There’s no reason not to think we could be a 9 or even 10 win team from that, IF we can have a healthier year. Add an offense with a freshly signed QB, a rejuvenated OL, and the return of our TE1, and why can’t we believe that could another add 1-3 wins?

My overly optimistic “rah rah” status says my way-too-early, predraft prediction is 11wins. Or more.
The only problem with this is every other team is “improving” as well, at least most are. We get veterans on the D line, Giants young line gets better (doubtful but they could) plus they get Barkley back. We get a corner in the draft, they got Golladay.

You get the point, adding potential wins with our upgrades would be great if we were playing the same teams as last year but we’re not, they are all getting injured players back, acquiring FA’s and will be drafting as well.

True, we’re not operating in a vacuum, but the doom-n-gloom prophecies that proliferate the forum every spring is tiring and predictable. Personally, I prefer optimism. Hope is normal this time of year.

I'm just saying, it's one week into FA and you can still find a good player on June 1... that's 2 more months of player acquisitions going on. Not saying I trust them or nothing.

Too early to tell what kind of FA all teams have had until the season starts. Injuries and cuts will occur and change the landscape once again. Everyone is always wearing rose colored glasses at this time. Let's see what happens.
