1) I am still amazing a team that was 12 million over the cap (Eagles) were able to land player who lead all S with interceptions in 2020. I have to believe there was relationship with Smith agent and Eagles because Dallas has been looking for turnover S for about 25 years (Darren Woodson had 12 ints from '04-'06).
2) Golladay is dynamic and has potential to be impact player for them. Impact players changes the trajectory of a team and this one signing puts Giants into conversation of being a team who could make noise.
3) Washington Defense is already best in division and they go ahead and sign the #1 rated CB in FA. Then add Fitzpatrick who is unpredictable and crazy enough to put together a season that puts Washington in running for division.

Now we come to Cowboys. Team that just invested their well being and "all-chips in" regardless if they want to be in that position or not by signing Dak to monster contract. Dak now makes 4 times as much as any other QB in the division - so their window is NOW. To show fans how committed they are to winning championship now they added several players we had to google because we never heard about them. Neal would be lone exception but is he SS or LB? If we can't say which position he is its possible he isn't good at either position. Again, when your team is all-in why not be the team who signs the leading interception S in league for measly $5 mill year?? Dallas couldn't beat Jacksonville offer of 7th round pick for Malcom Brown?? The Jones continue to build their case of lacking self awareness and it should surprise nobody if we are revisiting these issues when we watch other teams play deep into playoffs.

:huh::huh: You lost me.......do mean Anthony Harris? It was 2019 he lead the league in interceptions ( why he was tagged for 2020 season). He had zero picks for 2020. I'm sure it's part of the reason his market value dropped 50%.

Neither has a QB, not worried about either team.

There are many things your missing on free agency. Dallas is signing depth and improving their roster not necessarily starters except Barham will play an important role. The Cowboys are not spending to get in cap he'll lime a Golliday signing too much money. Dallas has eleven drafts picks compared to these other teams and that's the way to build with lower rookie contracts. If you look Dallas signed Barham for two year's most like he rotates at DE with Gregory and both provide constant pressure. The other guys are on 1 year deals if their solid you add a year if they walk than you add another comp pick so I think different than you.

1. The Eagles have to sign someone just to attempt to stay over .500 in the division.
2. Golliday is a great signing but he is almost always hurt and misses multiple games. Giants can be competitive but they still have a ton of holes to fill.
3. Commanders are the biggest threat in the division. Fitzpatrick is streaky but never seems to hold down a job, solid qb play would go a long ways for them.
4. Cowboys have limited cap space, but made some good signings. For those we signed on the D-line they are considerably better against the run then what we had lining up for us last year. Neal could be dynamic but injury concerns. I think we have positioned ourselves decently and now to focus on the draft.

Dallas does not have limited cap space. We could add 26m with the stroke of a pen. That being said I approve of the moves we have made...would still have Iiked a splash at a couple positions because we still need starter level players.

It should be clear to people that the Cap.is not hard to get around. The Saints were hugely over the cap and got down under it a d even made some signings. Don't let the GM off the hook because of cap space.

sheesh...

Uh, no.
Dallas had the best free agency by far because they signed the most coveted Free Agent by a long shot: Dak Prescott.

But free agency isn't over and winning it is meaningless anyway.

Can we wait till after the draft to speak on who won the Paper Championship?
While that is true... we have not even sniffed a championship game since nice January 1996. You miss every shot you don’t take. Jerry is an oligarch who is too big to fail. Competing for a SB is an after thought.

Hate to say this because it kills me, but the deadskins have been doing a much better job on talent acquisition since Rivera has been there.
He's been there 15 minutes.
They still don't have a QB though Fitz is a decent stop gap.
They did what exactly of note? Draft a really good player at 2 overall?

All teams in the division seem to have made some solid moves. Theirs have just been splashier. Hoping to still walk away with hooker and/or nazee

Happy with signing Neal, Dak and Quinn this far tho.

Honestly, something tells me WFT isn't done with the QB position yet. I'm having a hard time believing they're trusting their entire season on a 38-year-old career backup guy. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them either draft one with their 1st or trade for maybe Mariota or Darnold. Remember they made a strong push for Stafford......

And if Dak signed with any of those teams, we’d be in trouble.
I forgot, did the deal fall through? I thought we signed the #1 free agent at the QB position.

How does that represent an improvement over baseline? That's the ONLY thing that matters here.

1. When teams prepare to play against Fitzmagic like a starter he does not play well. He is at best when he is a backup. Always seems to throw killer interceptions and has a losing career record.
2. The Eagles signing a solid strong safety to a one year contract is meaningless. They have no linebackers or cornerbacks. They overpaid for Slay last offseason.
3. Galloday is just a guy. You talk about garbage stats he put up plenty of them with Stafford. Plus I don’t see the greatness in Danny Dimes.

The best pickup was William Jackson but he is just solid and Washington had to over pay.

The Commanders worry me, but the other two? Not really. Every team has concerns, and this time of year is always mostly speculative. Besides, no matter what Dallas does, there are ALWAYS threads crying about how every future opponent has done so much more to improve themselves.

Our defense in 2020 was what, 31st? 30th? Just by changing DC we SHOULD be a few wins better. We’ve added veteran depth on the DL, a starting safety, and will probably add 1or 2 difference makers from the remainder of FA and then the draft. There’s no reason not to think we could be a 9 or even 10 win team from that, IF we can have a healthier year. Add an offense with a freshly signed QB, a rejuvenated OL, and the return of our TE1, and why can’t we believe that could another add 1-3 wins?

My overly optimistic “rah rah” status says my way-too-early, predraft prediction is 11wins. Or more.
