I can't wait to see how the Eagles defensive unit reacts after they get knocked on their keisters a few times by the firm of Smith-Frederick-Martin & Associates - the real 'Texas Hammers' (sorry Jim Adler).

Makes you wonder if they invest in a right tackle in the draft and even maybe another left guard what this team could look like. This line is really good, but I feel they are missing that one guy that wants to fight to the end and just ruin a defense. A loud mouth of sorts that just gets in the head of the defense.

I've seen some people with opinions like this and I think it's totally absurd. And that's only if you're talking about first round picks at those positions. They're probably already the best in the league and are only going to get better. And a huge reason for that has been the play of Leary-who's played at a probowl level for most of the year-and Free to a lesser part.

They should invest more on the defense in FA and the draft. That's what they should be doing.

The weakness of the defense is glaring and yet you still have those that wish to dedicate more resources on our already top-tier O line.

I'll take that RT in the first 3 rounds. And there is little depth on the OL so picks shouldn't just dry up towards the position. A G later in the draft would be a good pick; hopefully C-G swing type player because the team has been pretty lucky in the middle with injuries this year.

That is how you can get stale. It would be unfortunate to have a great OL only to have to protect a weak RT (look @ 2012-2013). But your point holds true regarding the D taking precedent. But then again, OL aren't TEs either;):D

Using first round picks would be insane unless a blue chip prospect @ T fell to us and there were no premium pass rushers to be had. But top T v avg S/CB/LB...I would take the T; similar to Martin last season.

Well you have to draft your board. If you are on the clock in the 3rd round and a OL you have rated as a 2-3 rounder is available and the highest defensive player you have rated is a 3-4 rounder a lot of people say take the better talented player you have rated higher on your board.

None of this matters. It's who has the edge at the end of the game that matters.

True.

Most really good OL aren't dominant at every position. You get 3 studs and average guys at the other 2 positions have easier jobs that allow them to be better

The team would look like it does now. Only with a QB one year older and closer to retirement.

Wait what?

Leary has been excellent.

Yes you draft to the board....that is different than people going in thinking we need to upgrade the O-line as a priority.

The pass blocking would prevent me from putting them anywhere near that high. I saw a stat last week that this season Romo has been sacked at the highest rate (% of pass plays) in his career.

Interesting. Could have something to do with him not being as mobile and sometimes going down on his own when he perceives pressure.
