I have DirecTV and on 212 is the combine,if you want the HD feed on channel 95...for an extra 4.95.

Ridiculous.
It's whether or not you have the HD package. Do you? If you have the HD package, you get all the HD channels, including NFL Network HD shows on 95. If not, you have to pay per view.

For me, it costs extra, but ESPN HD and Discovery HD alone are worth it.

kind of strange that some get it and some dont!!!

I have never had that come up before. i watch hockey, mavs games and the actual nfl network games on there and have never had this happen.

Had an issue a few weeks ago, where DTV had blocked my NFL network, because a Mavs game was supposed to be aired on channel 95. And I had to tell them that it was my HD feed...and b-ball has nothing to do with the NFL Network.

Long story short, we reset my receiver...and everything came back as normal.

This is just a HD format upgrade marketing ploy. It's just bidness. I'm watching on 212 in the dreaded traditional format, and I'm surviving the experience just fine. I suppose if the consumer wants to count the beads of sweat dripping from the participants, then they can opt for the HD version.

Are you saying you have DTV, receive the NFL Network(212), and are only able to view it by paying for the HD channel?

Really do not see the difference between HD and regular when you have something like this; you really will not have much difference. Something like the SB and other things like that you WILL see the difference. Something like the combine- not much.

If you can't tell the difference between HD and SD, regardless of the televised event, you need to see an optometrist.

you can say that again.

People are taking this the wrong way.

I actually dont even have my tv on right now, and I am more than happy to just watch it on 212...

just pointing out that it would only allow me to watch it in hd on channel 95 like usual if i payed the 4.95!

again, I dont even have my tv on right now, so I am not watching it at all and will watch it on 212 with no issues, just found it odd or greedy that it was 4.95 on channel 95

Likewise, if you NEED to see the Combine in HD, you got a problem.

again, that is not the case...I simply started the thread wondering how the nfl could get away with charging 4.95 to watch the combine in hd.

I dont need to watch it in hd, I am not currently even watching it...

just pointing out that it if they were charging extra for it in hd all of a sudden, out of nowhere that is very greedy.

apparently that is not the case.....no need for more insults...about it..

When it makes it to my area it will become reality. Until then it's a distant dream.
