Didn't know they, statistically, looked that good. Only giving up an ave of 215 YPG. Some of that may be do to teams being able to run on them.

And I think Romo was the first QB to top 300 this year. 270ish I think was the most they'd given up so far.

I haven't watched their games this year. Are they generally a good secondary?

Their run defense is so awful, no one has really had to pass on them, but when all is said and done, their pass defense is probably the strong aspect of that team (which isn't saying much as they are really terrible).

I thought they had a good passing D the past few years though. Especially with what maybe one of the best corners in the league.

Agreed.

The Raiders just aren't a very good football team, especially against the run.

Not saying anyone is doing this but really isn't necessary to try to hype them up to make this win seem a lot better.

The Cowboys, like every team can only play who is on the schedule. They went up against a dreadful team and did what they were suppose to do.

Part in bold - Coming into the game, everybody was indeed hyping them. It made no sense to me. You can't overlook any opponent, but you would've thought we were about to play the Colts or Saints yesterday from reading all the slobber over the Raiders on this board.

Yeah, it was kind of stupid.

However, I think the reasoning was that the offense has looked terrible and the Raiders I believe beat the Eagles and another good team that escapes me.

Also, we almost lost to Kansas City, so some people were just being cautious.

The Cowboys have had a bad habit of playing to the competition, which oddly enough, is why I think the Saints game is going to be closer than what people think.

Oakland sucks, maybe much less without Jemarcus Russell, but they still suck and the Cowboys should have won that game.

But the Cowboys also have a tendency to play down to the competition. So I really liked what I saw yesterday even if there were still a lot if miscues. I guess everyone knows that the Raiders shouldn't be that hard to beat. But knowing how we played in KC or against Washington and how they played against Cincy or Philly, it still is a nice win.

It's all about matchups guys. The way Oakland plays their aggressive man-to-man D, it's either feast or famine with them. They trust their athletes man-to-man across the board and try to load the box vs. the run. If you don't connect on some big plays, you can be in a dogfight with them just as Philly found out earlier this year. You figured you would get Oakland's best shot given the big stage and national TV audience. If Oakland was able to get Romo to the ground more earlier in the game, who knows what could've happened. Fortunately Romo was able to elude the pressure several times.

We won the game within the game. You've got to gash them with the big play and we did.

Dreadful? Going into this game, I didn't look at the Raiders as dreadful. I was actually a little worried before the game. The Raiders are a team capable of getting up for anyone. They proved that by beating Philly, and by beating a pretty balanced, 1st place-for-a-reason, Cincinatti team. Those are two quality teams in my book.

Bottomline, the Cowboys did a really good job of beating up on the Raiders!!!
