Yeah, then Lamb goes down and people will say why didn’t you sign Beckham.

Lamb or Gallup goes down and from there just put a safety over the top of the other receiver and you really expect our other receivers to beat anyone.[/QUOTE]
Beckham will

To those people saying “team is good as is we don’t need him”….why do the bills want him? why does kc have interest ? These are teams who have advanced further than us and have a great shot at doing so again this year and still have interest in him.

There’s nothing wrong with adding us much talent as you can

I think that the Cowboy's courtship of OBJ is a slap in the face of Michael Gallup. Furthermore, I believe that Gallup feels the same way. I think that Gallup will dedicate the rest of the season to proving that the Cowboys don't need OBJ.

I'm pretty sure that these circumstances have "motivated" all the Cowboys WR's.

In a way, I suppose that there will be positive results from wooing OBJ but not signing him.

Buffalo on Friday with the whole weekend before Dallas? My bet is he never leaves the state of NY before signing.

I expected to sign him, but I also thought we'd be the first visit.

If he makes it to Dallas he will be a Cowboy. That's a big "if."

Gallup was paid. Gallup is still recovering and these guys want to win a ring. Despite what fans want to believe, OBJ is respected amongst other players.

Cant see why he would want to live in cold buffalo over Dallas
Yeah, either he wants to find a “home” like he said or he’s a mercenary for the playoffs. If it’s the former, then no way he ends up in Buffalo. If it’s the latter he’s got a real shot to sign as it’s only a month and a half.

In my uneducated opinion

He will choose Buffalo unless Dallas offers a multiple year deal. Basically go to Buffalo, handshake agreement. Ends up in Dallas, shows them what they offered and asks for an extra year. He gets it? He goes to Dallas. We say no? He will agree with Buffalo
Smart inference I don’t necessarily disagree

I'm not sure what you mean.

What does Gallup's contract have to do with it?

You seem to be making my point when you mention that Gallup is still recovering. This implies that Gallup will be performing increasingly better than he already is which is trending. In his most recent game, he had his highest number of receptions and yards for the season.

When did I imply that OBJ was disrespected by teammates? The desire to compete is a required trait in professional sports. It's only natural that the Cowboys receivers hope they can elevate their play in response to a possible OBJ signing.

By declaring that the Cowboys can't win a SB without OBJ by the fans and the media, the obvious implication is that the current squad of Cowboys receivers are inferior to the task.

The desire for the Cowboys WR's to elevate their play is not disrespect. In fact, it is the highest form of respect one athlete can give to another.

Honestly I hope we don't sign him.

This team looks like Super Bowl contenders already and OBJ doesn't deserve to jump on the wagon at this point.
I hope we don't sign him for 20 + million APY. Uncle Fish said he's looking for multiyear 20+ APY. If we so that I'll be disappointed. We could have kept Cooper and Cooper has 2 healthy knees. I know Cooper didn't get along with everyone but to trade Cooper for a 5th just to sign OBJ to the same contract is plain stupid considering OBJ's health.

I was referring to the slap in the face for Gallup. Gallup is less likely to be frustrated by the signing because he was already paid. Contract year + signing OBJ would equal less touches and less chances to make plays to earn a bigger payday. He is also well respected and can teach the younger guys a few things .. especially how to win in the postseason lol

Free Agency 101

Mention the Cowboys to drive up the price for where you're
actually going. I remember everyone getting excited about
Ray Lewis coming to Dallas. The Ravens increased their offer
and Suga' Ray retired as a Raven.

Just this year, Bobby Wagner and Von Miller were "headed to Dallas".
OBJ is damaged goods. Jerry should've kept Amari Cooper. I bet
half a bottle of JWB and he'll flat out admit it.

You are spot on about every free agent wants to be a Cowboy.
Until another team offers a nickel more.
And with Stephen making the offers it happens frequently

I don't believe OBJ is the addition to make any difference between us getting a Super Bowl bid or not. He's just not very likely to be good enough to be the major ingredient to accomplishing that task. Jerry is doing his level best to sell something that he thinks the Cowboys' fans might swallow. Let's hope that whatever happens with regards to OBJ's future isn't the incident that convinces us that his absence is responsible for a SB absence. OBJ simply is not the answer to our problems, despite what Jerry would like to convey. We have a FO that isn't willing to accept, nor admit to their obvious limitations. I'd love to see this team get as far as possible, regardless of whatever occurs with regards to OBJ. Go, Cowboys!

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/

- Going into 2023, Bills will have the least team cap space in NFL, ..thus i wonder what kind of cap casualties and restructures they can make
to accommodate a multi year big contract for Beckham.

- Cowboys are among the upper top of available team cap. Although it's only about 7 million. But the Cowboys can also make their share
of cap manuever to fit a spot for Beckham.

- It's possible, but then you still have to deal with Moneyball Stephen Jones, and he's not one to usually go big on recruiting vet FAs
outside the club. He's normally very committed and stubborn to stay with the draft, re-signing their own core players, and swoop up
cheap bargain stop gappers.

I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t hold a prime time interview on his ‘decision’ :muttley:
