Not so much.

I guess the guy has big guns or something? They said it half-jokingly, basically pointing out how much bigger the Cowboys players were overall.

He also pointed out that as of right now, Dallas in favored in 15 of 16 games this year, the only one where they're currently underdogs in against Pittsburgh, but at only a one-point spread, basically a pick 'em game.

What does that say about Pittsburgh?

We are favored against every team but Pittsburgh ???
They aren't that good.

I'm not saying that we should be favored in 15 games either, but if we are good enough to win 15 games, we are good enough to beat the Squealers.

For me, since I live in Squealers country, we HAVE to win that game!!!

I've come to the conclusion that this is very much a QB-driven league, and the Steelers have a very good one (now that he's gotten out of his funk from getting run over by a car). As do we. Believe me, the Steelers will be there at the end.

P.S. Which is why the hype the Vikings are getting is overrated. I'm highly skeptical that they'll make the playoffs because of the QB position.

I hear ya, although Tavarius didn't look bad in the part of their pre-season game I watched. That's too small of a sample to form any opinion though.

The game in New York will be a lot tougher than the game in Pittsburgh.

No, surprisingly, they were pretty critical of how Denver looked yesterday morning.
Wow, you mean the other Denver-based reports we were reading might have been a little biased?

I tend to agree here. Only because its a divisional game. I feel like pitt is the better team.

I completely disagree. I think Pitt is very overrated. They play in a bad division and are nowhere near teams like New England, Indy, San Diego and Jacksonville. I doubt the Steelers would finish better than third in our division.

Yeah, we'll see. He might become a very good one, but I think he might be a year or two away. From what I saw of Aaron Rodgers though, I think he is going to look a lot more Tony Romo-ish than a first or second year guy. There is something to be said for holding the clipboard for awhile.

He looks like he has a very lively arm, his passes have zip on them. Interestingly, even though a lot is made about Grossman's and Kyle Boller's arm strength, there is something about their passes I don't like. They almost look like they're traveling through molasses -- I have a feeling it has something to do with how quick the release is. But I only had to see a couple of Rodger's passes and I was sold -- the death of the Green Bay Packers is highly overrated. This is how I think the seeding in the NFC is going to unfold...

1) Cowboys 13-3
2) Packers 12-4
3) Giants 12-4
4) Saints 11-5
5) Philly 10-6
6) Seattle 9-7

This maybe true about our division. We play in the best division in football. However you must give them credit for being able to put together good seasons and be contenders. They play a hard nosed style of football that can beat any team any week.

Yeah, maybe. On the other hand, all Cowboy-affiliated reports were completely objective. :eek:hno:

I guess we'll know if that's true by the time we play them. Pitt has a brutal schedule this year, including games against all of those teams you mentioned.

I still would like to have their def coord Dick LeBeau in Dallas. Ware would be even more of a beast in his system.

Since I live in Denver, I have the advantage of listening to the local radio talk about the Dallas-Denver practices. These are the tidbits I've heard from various hosts...

1) Denver looked a bit timid in yesterday morning's practice but they came out to play today. Lots of hard hitting and some scuffles.

2) One of the afternoon's hosts (a crotchety old man named Joe) said the floor on the Cowboys regular season was 11-5 and they could win as many as 14 games. He also pointed out that as of right now, Dallas in favored in 15 of 16 games this year, the only one where they're currently underdogs in against Pittsburgh, but at only a one-point spread, basically a pick 'em game.

3) The hosts this morning said that Tony Romo has the "look" of a star, just with the way he carries himself and that Jay Cutler is not there yet, but probably would be some day. He also said, after prefacing that he wasn't paying too much attention to our QBs (more focused on Cutler), that Romo looked "sharp."

4) Two of three hosts yesterday afternoon said that Pacman was correct in saying that Owens was better than Marshall (although obviously not ten times better) and that it was Moss, Owens and everyone else at WR. Overall, two of three were very respectful of Owens and said that they would love to have him on their team. The other host continued to rail on about how he couldn't forgive Owens for the way he treated former teammates and coaches -- the other two didn't want to hear it though.

5) Hosts said the difference in size between the teams was blatantly obvious, but amusingly said that the Broncos had the bigger QB and kicker at least.

6) Overall, very respectful of the Cowboys.
Much wiser than Commanders.

I can't wait to get to the third game so we can see our starters beat-down some poor team, just to let the world know that we're okay down here in D-town.

Denver hasn't been the same since the departure of Elway, shame.

Houston is a solid team. I wouldnt be expecting any beat down, domination or any of the other misguided terms people use around here.

Plus Houston treats the game like the stinking superbowl so I wouldnt be expecting to much dominating. probably just a good half of football from two solid teams.

They went 10-6 in one of the worst divisions in football. Their division played the lowly AFC East (Buffalo, NY, and Miami were horrible) and the pathetic NFC West. They only played three games during the regular season against teams that made the playoffs. Their only victory in those games came against Seattle. They were trounced by New England and lost twice at home to Jacksonville.
