Observations from game

Woods did you key in on the line today? How was Connor Williams?

Just a tidbit regarding the whole oline:

Either Romo or Nance mentioned that the Cowboys coaches felt our line matched up much
better with the Jags dline than against the Texans last week. They said Dallas didn't match up
well with the swim moves and such from the Texans and that the Jags were more of a physical style rush which is in favor of Dallas.
This was said early in the game and proved to be prophetic.

La'el Collins played well. He had a block in the back penalty but he was pancaking guys.
The op made a great point about Looney. I too completely forgot about FredBeard... at least for this week.

.Interesting / the Loney play has been a season saver thanks for the info

This was an excellent performance from this team, in all phases of the game. Most impressive win in two years.

Having said that, what makes a team legit is being consistent. Something we haven’t seen in a two years. If this team can go into Wash next week and put together a second straight win against a division opponent, I will feel this team has done something noteworthy.

I enjoyed this win. Impressive. Be consistent and I will really be impressed.

When ever the bell sounds, they have to continue marching out to the center of the ring and punching their opponent squarely in the jaw!!

I'm not buying it. This was a freak game that the Cowboys will not be able to repeat the rest of the season. The offense was just too good to be true. Sorry, I just don't think things turn around that quickly for the Cowboys. I expect to see this team get beat on the road next week because they haven't proven they can do otherwise this season. After watching the Commanders beat the Panthers today, I just think that will be a very difficult game next week. Good luck Cowboys, may you string a few wins together.

My observations:

1. Let Dak be Dak and play within himself which leads to a functional offense. He is not a pocket-passer and do not try to make him one.

2. The LB core has gone from a concern to a strength.

3. Even though Zeke is the man, the team needs to go through Dak, not vice versa. Dak has to set the tone.

4. Linehan watched tape of what worked against this specific team, continue to scheme for each game.

5. We still need a dangerous punt returner to elevate special teams.

6. A WR#1 needs to step up or find one via trade or draft.

7. Jarwin is a wasted roster spot, activate Schultz to get him some reps.

8. Lastly, do not get too excited......lets win two in a row before we talk playoffs

just curious - why don't you see it being sustainable? talent or coaching issue?

Looney doesn't have the power of Fred. He is more likely to stand DT up whereas TFred gets push on the biggest of them. I get where you are coming from. Consistent execution and average strength from a backup is awesome to see after watching Green and Bell stink up the joint in a similar role last year.

I could easily see Looney demanding $6+m as a FA. Many teams would want him over their starter.

Next week will Beasley be open? The deadskins will lock in on him so someone needs to step up. Hopefully Gallup has a breakout game.
That’s really the key going forward
Teams will try to contain Beasley and the rest of the guys have to step up and Dak has to find them and get the ball to them
I think TE is gonna be crucial against the skins because they are gonna see what the Texans did against Beasley and what the jags didn’t

Heeey Joe!,,,I believe were we to square off against Carolina later on in our season rather than seeing them for our season opener,,, prolly would render a different outcome,,, ya- man! That O.T. loss last week was a snap kick to the cojones& LAID THE CLOUD MALAISE OF INEPT LOSERDOM over the back of most fans thoughts ( I know it affected my outlook)

Washington just beat Carolina, so maybe so. I see a battle brewing with the Commanders next week. Maybe we lose that one. We can't seem to win 2 in a row.

All 3 of the Cowboys wins have come at home. All 3 of the Cowboys losses have come on the road.

Is there a relationship?

They are on the road next week against the Commanders.

Conner has been great pulling to the right side. Zeke's best runs have been to the right side this year.

I might be wrong, but Conner has good lower body strength, but needs more in the upper body to withstand the initial burst from dlinemen.
