It is a good feeling. Let me ramble a little bit here!

It seems that for the first time in a decade it seems the chips are falling in the right places for the Cowboys to make a serious run at the big game. It has been along time since we were in this good of a position, this late in the season. I'm not talking about making the playoffs, I'm talking about playing the playoffs in Dallas.

Romo is managing the game well, we are relatively healthy and our defense is actually deserving of their top rankings. With all that, the main thing that has me excited is that for the first time in over a decade is the fact that the entire rest of the NFC east is experiencing the problems that has kept us from being competative.

Our defense is good enough to take us to the big game. There is not an offense that scares me although there are a couple of games left that have additional storylines and/or motivations that often hurt us.

Giants: Either they finish their implosion and are not competative or they play angry and with pride on the line and something to prove after this loss today.

Saints:
They are hard to figure out, and Payton will spend a few extra hours preparing for his old team/coach.

I really believe we can win the last three if we stay injury free and keep playing well.

Observations / Random Thoughts:

Keith Davis was actually very important after all. Our Record could be flawless if he would have started since game 1.

Vanderjact needs to make a clutch kick before playoff time. His leg is there, his mind is just pushing his kicks. Maybe they should make him memorize playboys and recite them as he kicks.

Terrance Newman should buy a condo in Hawaii for his annual trips. D Ware should split the cost with Newman.

Terrance Newman will be injured returning punts. We have 29 great young recievers on special teams, but Parcells risks our season every time the other team punts. The downside heavily outweighs the upside of this.

Greg Ellis is great football player who didn't fit this system for whatever reason. To Parcells credit, he tried to make it work by moving him to LB. It was a weakness that was getting exploited.

Marion Barber will be a starter in the NFL this year or next.

Parcells needs a late round playoff game to keep his job. He uses his personality to hide his shortcomings. The "dont question me" attitude works with reporters and bloggers. It isn't working with Jerry.

Terry Glen is the best reciever in the NFC east.

Now, I have to stay grounded.

I realize that we beat the Colts because our defense played well at home. We beat the Panthers on the road withan excellent defensive performance on a night that Carolina wishes they had back. Those were both good wins.

I'm reminded that the three out of the last four games were against teams that are in last place in their division with a combined 5 wins when we played them. We went 2-1 in those games. In addition, the Giants ate Romo's lunch in the first game and we have never played well against the Saints.

If this really isn't something special going on, then the next two weeks will hold true to form and we could be back to the spot where we will be hoping to get a wildcard game on the road. If not, we are in the drivers seat for the first time in at least a decade!

Bottom line: It feels like something special, the next two weeks are as imporant as any two weeks we have played in a decade.

That's quite a change from when you said (2 weeks ago) the loss to the Redstinks killed our season......

here's a few more of your gems:
I dont hate romo. I just hate the fact that his learning curve has cost us a shot at making the playoffs.

Parcells has now made 2 of the worst 3 decisions I have ever seen a Cowboys coach make. That is saying a lot considering Campo lasted 3 years.

I'm as big of a Cowboy fan as their is. I'm the stereotype of a die hard fan. Even I will admit that after losing to a 2-5 team which put us at 1-3 in division play, we should not be even allowed to use the words play or offs and certaintly not together.

It's funny that the only two things you had to say about Romo is that he is "managing the game well" and that the Giants "ate his lunch" in the last meeting. Still grinding that ax? Go BLEDSOE!!!

Absolutely, neither you or I could have predicted the Colts win and the demise of the Panthers, Seahawks, Giants, and Eagles since then.

That Commanders game still hurts like hell. It might be snowing in Chicago in January.

You have to be the most clueless person I've ever come across here at Cowboys Zone.

Romo's best asset so far is his ability to manage the game. Specifically in the 2nd half. When we have had the lead, he has done an excellent job of keeping those long drives going. That is often the cleat on the opponents neck in those games.

Get out of his rear, he is not flawless. He has some weaknesses. If I have to list them, then you aren't watching the same games.

I didn't get that either.

I also didn't get that Ellis was a weakness that was getting exploited. That just is not the case. If he was the weakness, he would not have been in there. The fact was that Parcells even found another way to use Ellis before the injury. In the Arizona game, Ellis was moved to DT in the nickel package with Ware lined up at LDE.

I think Dallas so far is doing well in replacing Ellis because they put together some good depth and getting good use from them. If there was a weakness, it was the coaches unwillingness to actually utilize that depth while Ellis was healthy. The injury made it a necessity.

Please, do list his flaws.

I'm making that assumption based on the wreckless decisions this same coach has made since."

Bill begins every pc listing them...whether it's 'driving' a ball that should be floated, or getting too risky in the endzone.

But we know they'll be improved upon, and if Tony's past is any indication, quickly. :)

Dont get me wrong. Ellis was one of my favorite Cowboys. His position change combined with the change to the 3-4 actually help a portion of his game. The problem was going to be with teams getting him matched up in the open field with more athletic backs. The same thing that is an asset for D. Ware in the position.

Yet, teams weren't doing that.

Romo is doing an excellent job. I couldn't be happier with his performance. Having said that, he does have those flaws.

Many fans that hated Drew Bledsoe are conviently forgetting to evaluate Romo the same way every other QB is evaluated. Of course, the Cowboys are winnng so flaws always seem less important, but they are there.

Sure, every person has flaws. This isn't some ground-breaking discovery. The fact of the matter is that he limits them more than any other QB.
