when you get paid money to play it is a business based on a game.

I meant it's a game for the fans. Unless you're saying that what you watch every Sunday is two businesses playing each other.

Do you really care that he changed his name is Ocho Cinco? Does that really annoy you THAT much?

I think it's funny, personally. I wish the NFL would stop trying to beat the individualism out of its players.

It does not bother me at all. However I think he is an idiot for doing it.

The players work for the NFL. If they do not like the rules then go work somewhere else. If fans do not like the rules then turn off the game or watch another league. It is not like Chad was being oppressed.

How come nobody's ever mentioned to Chad, that the #85 in Spanish is "ochenta y cinco"?

What he's doing, is the equivalent of a Mexican soccer player putting "eight five" on his jersey as his name.

Every one always says this...

Obviously he knows, and I would bet that the majority of posters here learned to count in spanish in grade school.

For the ten years I played ball, it was common to call a guy be his number. "Way to go eight five" "nice play eight five" "atta boy big eight five"!

Maybe things have changed, I just don't think it's a big deal.
