Octavien

I still don't see why we couldn't train him to play Carp's spot. Now that we have Curtis Johnson and apparently are going to keep him, that makes Octavien the 5th OLB. Why not ditch Carp and have Doc Oc play there? He's fast and athletic enough to do it...

+1. We gotta do something to get some depth at ILB.

Not to hijack Octavien thread, but Dallas should bring in Zack Follett. He can backup both ILB and OLB, but more importantly he is a ST demon who works as hard as he hits.

BTW, Catch, I know you're a Nebraska fan and I am too, but I got so disgusted with the Callahan hire that I didn't follow them closely the last few years. Was Oc that good in college? Didn't you say he was just banged up a lot or something?

I would like a backup for Brady James and this guy has the engine to do it.

Yeah, he does. IMO, Oc could play either inside or outside. He's good in coverage or rushing the QB, so he could play either side as well.

His versatility is nice but for his sake, I hope the coaches put him at one position and just let him try to compete for the starting role.

Right now we need him outside because of some injuries... but once we have everyone back, I'd like to see him put behind Brooking. I would just let him learn that "mo" backer spot and let him try to earn a starting position next year.

With him behind Ware, he has zero chance at starting in the foreseeable future.

^^^QFT. I wouldn't mind at all if they put him behind James, but honestly, I'd rather give him a shot behind Brooking. Keith is a stop gap (and, so far a damn good one) and Bobby has been nothing short of a major disappointment. It would be nice to see him turn into that 3 down ILB that doesn't need to be taken off the field in passing situations. He seems to have the head and the wheels to play pretty damn solid in coverage.

Jimmy Johnson, with his "I feel the need, the need for speed".....would have loved this kid at LB......but he wouldnt have minded DWare either...;)

He was playing inside some late in the Minnesota game. I'm sure he's getting reps in practice as well, especially with J Will out.
