Amari Cooper has 5 100-yard games with Jacoby Brisset as QB
and also has a restructured contract that Dallas never bothered to
pursue. But OBJ is two years older, coming off a twice-torn ACL,
and he wants more $$$.

(Yes, this or something similar, should be in EVERY OBJ thread.)
Make it accurate if you are going to put it in every thread.

NONE of it is accurate right now.
Amari has FOUR 100-yard weeks out of 10 weeks.
He also has 3 games below 35 yards.
He's 17th in receptions and 13th in yards.

Amari is making 60M this year and the next 2.
That is FAR MORE than OBJ is valued at by Spotrac.
Amari would have cost 22M on THIS YEARS cap for Dallas.
Part of the deal with the trade was eating some of that cash for CLE.
They got his cap down to peanuts but now get to pay him:
24M each of the next 2 seasons with dead money after that.

I aint giving 12 mil to a guy who won't even play half the season
Would be prorated so more like 6M this year.
Cowboys only have 7M in cap space so def won't hit cap for more than 5M this year.
Because of health any incentives would be unlikely to be earned based and not cost you versus cap.

A realistic OBJ deal:

3 years 56M (17M GTD)
SB= 8M
year 1-- 6M prorated down to 3M

per game bonuses of 50K per active.
1M bonus for SB MVP
1M bonus for All Pro
1M bonus for 8 TDs.
cap hit roughly -- 5M

year 2 -- 6M
per game bonuses of 50K per active.
1M bonus for SB MVP
1M bonus for All Pro
1M bonus for 8 TDs.
cap hit roughly -- 6M

year 3 -- 9M
per game bonuses of 50K per active.
1M bonus for SB MVP
1M bonus for All Pro
1M bonus for 8 TDs.
cap hit roughly -- 6M

year 4 void year
year 5 void year

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again I just don’t think he moves the needle all that much

he could help some but he’s a twice injured declining receiver I would not throw a blank check to

but of course we are dealing with the Jones buffoons

I think he gets 5 million the rest of the year, if he wants a multi year deal he'll have to make some compromises.

OBJ addition will wash away some of the Jones’s football malpractice sins.

He provides the route running and separation that will be needed in the playoffs.
