Odrick scheduled to meet with Cowboys

If we trade Spears, I wouldn't mind this pick at all. Hatcher was my pet cat but he hasn't shown a whole lot when given the chance. Bowen has been good when he gets on the field but i have no idea how he would perform if he was a starter.

When will understand it? Dallas is not trading up, Jerry is not taking a WR in the 1st round, Thomas will be gone, Pouncey is not a 1st round pick. The only two that make any sense are Williams and Wilson and even Williams has holes in his argument.

Id trade Odrick and w/e else (Marty, or a 4th etc.) for Anthony Davis. You left him out

And Iupati?

I was so fine w/ the DL last year. Sure a couple might grab some money next year, but we could pretty much plug a few mid rounders in their spot when that time comes. Just like RB, you can find mid rounders to do the job.

If we got a 2nd for Spears, then ya Odrick would be OK in the first.

But no team is going to give a 2nd for Spears since they know we probably won't resign him after this year.

The guy is a beast but definetely a disapointment as far as wanting a more entertaining pick.

He would definetely boost our front 7 though and I think he is a possible 3rd option for us in this draft if things fall as planned.

I've been saying I think this guy is a dark horse... (waits for bob "racist" comment)

You think that's a possibility? I think it's highly unlikely we get anything for him. Has any team made a move for a RFA with a draft pick tender so far?

It'd be okay by me. Yeah it's not as flashy as a WR/S/CB/or even an OT, but he's a good player who fits a need (Spears is not going to be here forever, clearly and Hatcher's IMO nothing more than a backup)

I know, I'm kidding.

But I can't believe a 3-4 DE would be a good option in the first. Just don't see the logic.

Well, Jerry and Stephen now alot more than you. Suppose they know Spears is asking for a Canty type deal and they have decided they will not offer that. Suppose they have also concluded Bowen and Hatcher are nice role players but not long term starting caliber players. Suppose all the WRs, OLs, CBs, and Ss that are worthy of the 27th pick are gone and they have Odrick rated at 22. Now, suppose they work the phones and noone wants to trade into the 27th spot. What would you do? Reach for a need or take the value pick at a spot that could become a need very shortly.

I hope we don't have to make that decision but there certainly could arise a situation where he is the best option.

We still got all these guys plus Dixon signed up for this year. Throw in a mid rounder this uear and a mid rounder next year and losing 2 of these guys wont kill you. And thats IF you do lose two of them......after this season
