Romo will fetch a conditional 3rd that could turn into a 2nd in 2018.

Carr gets a 3 year deal that's team friendly. Win/win contract.

Mo will accept another 1 year conditional deal, lower base, higher incentive.

We target another CB in the top 3 rounds.

Terrance is gone. Will cost too much for what is, realistically, the 5th option on offense outside of Zeke, Dez, Witten, and Beasley.

Butler is re-signed.

Expect another WR in the top 4 rounds, and Dak's guy later in the draft Ross.
I would be very happy if this is how things work out. Nice post.

That's what I think, too. Romo's better regarded by football coaches than he is by a lot of fans. And difference making QBs don't come around that often in the veteran market. They're valuable.

The experts were saying Romo is a top 5 QB and they don't EVER hit the trade market. They said Kansas City needs him pretty badly. It's now or never for them.

KC is the team I've been expecting him to go too, too.

Not a fan of keeping either WR, find a speed guy with "decent" hands to keep the deep threat there. In the mold of a Harper.

Under appreciation for a CB of the caliber that he can be is apparent. They don't grow on trees
He has shown flashes. But at this point in his career he needs less flash and more substance.

It doesn't matter how much salary space releasing Romo creates. The Cowboys aren't signing top tier free agents. Romo needs to stay and win his starting position back. Which he can certainly do.

I am in for bringing Mo & Carr back on cap friendly deals, 1 or 2 years. I am ok with TWill, but I am sure he will test the market. He makes a lot more good plays than bad plays. And Butler did not overwhelm us with better plays than TWill, matter of fact he had more bad plays. So it seemed. However, I would feel better if one was signed.

Still draft a CB and WR regardless.

I would really not like it, if Tony is just out right released, because Jerry is doing him a favor to let him pick his team. This is not a DWare situation.
Get something in trade for Tony, or keep him as the backup. Even if the 2017 pick isn't that much, but get a 2018 pick too, that can be a higher conditional pick. Like maybe we get a 3rd or 4th in 2017, but also get a 3rd conditional to a 2nd in 2018.

Or did you mean the original and only fake news?

Sounds good but it has no meaning. Mo's "flashes" happened anytime he was on the field and healthy. He has genuine talent which is what I would call substance. If you want that substance to be available more often then get better trainers that condition players to be more resilient. Mo wasn't trying to get injured.

Lee put it together this past season. And I believe Lee has had more ints in one season than Mo has had in his career. And I'd say playing LB is a little harder on ones body than CB.

Im not comparing them talent vs talent in any way whatsoever. But I am trying to illustrate the point that sometimes guys are able to break past the cycle of injuries.
