Off the wall question, would Dallas be interested in T. J. Duckett

LT is one hell of on athlete but as a running back pure and simple he isn't an outstanding one tiki is a great RB emmitt was a great RB but LT isn't the same kinda player. its not about better or worse or equal. for our system right now today brandon jacobs would be a better back for us than LT.

You're kidding right? LT is the only guy in the league that has a chance at breaking Emmitt's record.

done arguing or debating or whatever no one sees my point and I don't care to make it anymore.

That's your standard? Tiki and Emmitt?

Actually, however, I think you would find that LT's success stacks up favorably - especially against Tiki.

LT has AVERAGED 94.2 ypg rushing, 31.5 ypg receiving (125.7 total yards per game AVERAGE) and 1.1 TD's per game OVER HIS CAREER.

Scatbacks that don't run north and south don't have those kind of TD numbers.

As for Jacobs, he comes in and plows ahead for the tough yardage up the middle in a limited role - how can you think a guy with 98 career carries and ONLY 4 career receptions is a better fit ....... a guy who is limited to being a pure, straight ahead power back - little speed or value as a receiver .........

you must be stoned.

Or have you deluded yourself into thinking Jacobs is the next Earl Campbell?

fact is being right isn't as important to me as it is to you.
the internet is full of people that need to be right and need to prove it any way they can. I am not one of those people. happy holidays!

That's what people who are wrong say ...... :laugh2:

Hey, it's a debate - you shouldn't have engaged in it to begin with if you didn't have the stomach for it.

But, with your case I wouldn't have the stomach either.

LT is on the fast track to the Hall of Fame, and Jacobs, so far, is only a better version of Ron Dayne.

Your case is essentially the same as if you were trying to argue that a young possession receiver very early in his career who only plays ocassionally (ie. Ricky Proehl as a No. 3 WR after only 20 career receptions) would be a better receiver to have than Marvin Harrison after he has had 5 straight years of over 1200 yards and double digit TD's.

Regardless of offensive scheme there is no way to put a player who has career totals equal to about 4 games worth of work for a primary RB over and above a player who in 5 and 1/2 years has already run his career totals to a point just short of Hall of Fame numbers.

I thought I was reading things wrong here for a moment, but then I kept reading. I do not get the point of LT not being a good fit for Dallas. He is a good fit for every team. The guy is a player.

I do paritally understand the point that maybe Dallas would not get the most out of him since they don't throw to their backs that often. Of course that is only this season and there are reasons for that. Dallas doesn't have a back who can catch as well as LT. Julius is not a big threat as a receiver, so they don't waste time designing too many plays for him. Also, the receivers and Witten have recently done a good job of getting open. There has been no need to use the backs. And when Bledsoe was QB, he just wasn't good at throwing to the running backs. We all saw what Parcells did with Ritchie Anderson. He only set the team record for receptions by a running back. I think they could find a way to add that dimension to the offense if LT were in the back field.

LT is a great back. He reminds me a lot of Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton. He is a north-south runner. I think he is a better fit for Dallas than Julius Jones. I think he is better than Tiki Barber and I think Tiki is a pretty darned good back. LT is an every down back and I would take him in a heartbeat for both Julius and Marion.

LT fits in any system. He is not a scat back. He runs between the tackles just as well as he does on runs to the outside. He is the best back in the league. It's not open for debate.
