Offense (defeating the blitz)

A Warrior.

This thread is about if Dak can read defenses. Tell me what was the correct read when you have a defender blitzing right up the middle?

You said he can't read defenses because someone made a thread.....haha.. I still laugh when I think of your logic.

So what is the right read on the play? Go ahead.....set me straight.
…...several plays where throwing in the flat would have been better....as for the 2pt conversion....Dak, JG, and KMoore should have called a timeout....the QB knows the blocking schemes on each play....that play was in trouble for the beginning.

A warrior, lmao.

Its pathetic to read people rushing to post anything to defend Dak after obvious horrible games he has.

Maybe the right read would be to not take Zeke out of the backfield or pointing out the guy thats coming straight over Fredbeard to the Oline presnap. Hed obvious have a better chance with DE trying to run around a T than taking a S unblocked up the gut. Maybe get out of that play.

Are you implying that what did happen was the best scenario of what could happen presnap? Save your breath.

back when he was a short passes driving the bus and handing the ball off. He's no Brady. Play him at what he's good at. Dinking and donking it 5-7 yards and handing the ball off, that way he doesn't have to read crap since he's slow.

Were you in the class?

Dak doesn't know how to audible, that is just not who he is as a QB. Cooper begged him to do it last year and even though it worked he has not done it since. Makes defending him super easy. Disguise your coverage untill the last 15 seconds when coaches can't communicate to Dak what to do then he's stuck in whatever play they give him. his main issue is if everything is not perfect he is way off on his throws.

Oh I didnt realize the Jets yelled across the line and told Dak they were blitzing.
The QB can't know everytime a blitz comes. This isnt pop warner football. The defenses disguise coverage every play. The best the QB and the Offensive Line can do is recognize the blitz on the fly and pick it up. If the OC wanted blitz protection he should have left protection back. He choose not to and this is the result. Once the man is coming Dak made the right read and anyone with functioning eyes would agree that Witten was roughed up and interfered with. Thats not even debatable.

I saw the blitz coming from TV land....it wasn't disguised.....look at the replay. Is Dak coming to the line with his eyes closed now?

This isnt high school football. No QB will always know when a blitz is coming at this level. It wasnt Dak taking Zeke out of the backfield. This was Kellen Moore's play calling.
When a man blitzes it is up to the OL and the QB to quickly read the defender and make the right read. He did both of these things. If you are wanting to blame Dak for not being able to see the future then that is a you problem not a Dak problem. The guy who failed on that play was our Offensive Coordinator and the ref for not flagging the clear PI. Thats it.

Now you are playing checkers while these professionals are playing Chess. Just like offenses run guys in motion to fool the defenders the defenders show fake blitzes on almost every play to keep the offense guessing. Come on man. I'm not trying to be rude but this is basic level football knowledge.

Basic level football knowledge.....that's what I thought too. I'm playing checkers.....No....that would be HC & OC & QB. Film don't lie.....Stevie Wonder knew the blitz was coming. C'mon Man!

There are options to remedy a play presnap when you see a safety standing over your center and you Oline is outnumbered by rushers 6-5.

Its OK to admit Dak isnt all that. We all want him to do well.

Everybody likes to give Dak credit when his OL was stone-walling blitzes and he has the highest passer rating against them. It’s not like Zeke isn’t a great back at picking up blitzes as well. Teams generally tend to run blitz when desperate, so stats can be deceptive.

The whole third quarter, when Dallas successfully moved the ball last night was when they handed the ball to Zeke 9 of 12 times in the third quarter, followed by 5 of nine times. Dak in the second half had plenty of time.

I think Dak wanted to but Jason Garret has taken over all play calling duties to prove that he is a real HC and told Dak not audible.

So true. JG thinks this is the 90's cowboys that you can grind them with the run to open up the pass. Problem is we played against Greg Williams who knows us from his Commander time, and had nothing to lose by going max pressure against our depleted line.

Mugged. I think if the pass was thrown to him, instead of into the ground we may have seen a call. The fact that it was in essence uncatchable may have entered into the no call decision...

Dak ain’t smart enough to beat the blitz....the guy maybe has an IQ of 105-110.

Seems like they have always had issues stopping the blitz in the Garrett Era (another reason to fire him). Remember that game against the Commanders where Colt McCoy beat them in 2014...Jim Haslett was sending all-out blitzes and they couldn't do anything to stop it.

Why do guys keep confusing Greg Williams with Haslett? Williams was not the Commanders DC outside of 2007 and that’s when Sparano was baby-sitting Garrett.

And our most successful drives were the third quarter when we ran it 9 out of 12 times on the first series and the Saints couldn’t stop it. Basically, the run game effectively gave Dak plenty of time to throw the second half.

This is called buying the fake and letting the defense dictate your plays. You do this and you wont win a game in this league. Every snap you will be adjusting to the fake and playing into the hands of the defenders. You don't know as much about this game as you think my man.

And if Witten would have recognized where the blitz was coming from he could have adjusted his route quicker to the inside where the hole was left.
Look at all the receivers routes. Looks like a bunch of guys with no awareness.

These refs have decided this season to never throw a flag or review a PI when the game is on the line. Its been this way all season.

This team has roasted teams that rely heavily on the blitz, like the Eagles and Schwartz. They don’t tend to have problems with it, because their blocking generally has been great. Teams can also blitz out of desperation when getting no pressure, so they try and create it. But that usually is when the OL is already improving their will. That’s usually what happened with Dak.

This year it’s a little different, because Dallas has been passing a lot more.

I cant continue to talk stupid as well as you do, however its called taking what the defense gives you; and that includes defensive presnap lineups. This specific play could not have been more obvious in Daks face than it was.

Its impossible to argue with a Dak apologist. You win. He was fantastic yesterday and nothing was his fault. Beautiful game for guy with his hands tied behind his back. Lol
