Offense/Defense Stats Crazy!

They’ve also forced 8 turnovers. And the cowboys have forced 2.

Seattle’s defense is without a doubt better than the cowboys to this point.

Giveaways are a problem. But At least the offense makes up for its turnover issue by playing extremely well otherwise.

I think this is what Mike is mad about. We know the offense is good and the defense is awful. If we can’t help them out by not turning the ball over than this thing is cooked. They need all the help they can get over there!

The offense absolutely has too many turnovers. Absolutely.

But it’s also not a recipe for success when the offense has to both play highly aggressive because they need to score 30+ points and needs to be perfect and not commit any turnovers because the defense doesn’t force any.

The offense needs to commit less turnovers. But the defense needs to help it’s damn self too by getting some.

These are some crazy stats that I thought I would share.

Offense
Yards per game= 509/game (historic pace)
2nd place is GB at 445/game
Top 5 is Dal, GB, Sea, Buff, and KC

Everyone but us is 4-0.....

Defense
Yards per game= 438 per game 29th in the NFL
Sea is dead last at 477/game but still 4-0. They are also +5 at TO differential.

Scoring defense- 146 points allowed- Dead Last (historic pace)
TO differential- -7..... Dead Last

Kind of crazy and some historic stuff going on in the first month. We could end up with the NFL’s best offense in history and allow the most points in history in the same year! Lol

I have been keeping track of the Parcell's stat for efficiency after every game for every team. The Cowboys ranked 27th in the league before this last game and after the game they rank 26 on offense (116 yds/7pts compared to 109 yds last week) and 30 on defense (82 yds/7pts). Only the Jets and Saints rank worse on defense than Dallas, but both give up substantially fewer yards per game on defense than the Cowboys.

Seattle gives up the most yards per game of any team but they are 4th in the league in defensive efficiency making their opponents move the ball 122 yards for 7 points. The 3 teams ahead of Seattle are KC, Baltimore and the Rams.

Seattle is also 3rd in offensive efficiency needing only 86 yards per 7 points. Only Green Bay and Baltimore are ahead of them in this category. Perhaps this explains their 4-0 record.

Dallas needs to improve field position on both sides of the ball. They need turnovers to flip the field position.

This is actually kind of good news when you think about it.

if the offense can just protect the ball a bit Better. And the defense can force turnovers a bit more often. The cowboys will win a lot of games. Even with the defense giving up a ton of yards and points.

look at the other teams doing that. 4-0

It’s almost like a dream if our D could force a TO on the opponent’s side. We would be unstoppable if they could do that. We have to drive the ball every game hence all the yards......

As a God fearing man, the only explanation I see is jerry's deal with beelzebub has long since expired and the man upstairs is having a laugh at jerry's expense :)

It’s very discouraging. This franchise just can’t seem to get it right. Something is always broken. If the defense was just average to bad they would be 3-1. I will also add that talent is not the problem on defense. The effort, tackling, and discipline is just not there.

8th in points scored is the difference.

Cowboys may be tops in total yardage but they need to be top 3 in points scored with Nolan's defense, which is on pace to be the worst defense in the entire history of the NFL.

Having a horrible defense that gives up points makes it a lot easier on the offense to get yardage against prevent defenses.

Wake me if we're ever getting that yardage with 20 points leads.

For those complaining about the defense not taking away the ball, only 2 in 4 games. The other side of that coin is the offense being tied with Philadelphia for the worst in the league, NINE turnovers.

Once again, the offense is complicit in the 1-3 record, not just the defense. Many are letting the offense off the hook for getting all those yards.

Having the supposed #1 offense last year(most yards) lead Dallas to an 8-8 record. Don't be fooled again.

If you are assigning blame, it lies 20-30% offense, 70-80% defense this year.

I just want the QB to play 4 quarters of solid mistake free football.

And I want a sparkly unicorn pony. But I ain't gonna get that either.

They're not perfect. 50 passes a game will give you some turnovers. At 1.5% INTs, Dak is doing *well*.

Dak's fumble rate isn't even that bad, given the Donald jailbreaks, and Steele at RT.

The *other* fumbles are a bigger deal. Fumble rates for Zeke and Schultz are too high, though Schultz is still only one, so not much of a pattern there.

But their offense doesn’t start out slow and turn the ball over..

I know we have nice stats but the offense is failing us early in games.
yup last in the first half points and lead in TOS,,first half's are horrible all around and no winder we are digging out of holes.

Turnovers will mostly even out the rest of the way.

Are you nuts? I'll take this bet any day of the week

This team has no chance to go +7 in turnovers over 12 games..absolutely zero chance

I’m just asking for 4 quarters of clean mistake free football. If that’s too hard for Dak BYE!
