Offense/Defense Stats Crazy!

Having a horrible defense that gives up points makes it a lot easier on the offense to get yardage against prevent defenses.

Wake me if we're ever getting that yardage with 20 points leads.

I can’t consider any of the games garbage time as they came back in all three. It would be one thing to be down 10-14 but they got within 3 in this last game and beat Atlanta. Also had the lead at Hawks with 4 to play.

If you are assigning blame, it lies 20-30% offense, 70-80% defense this year.

Agreed.

But many are saying it's ALL the defense's fault because the offense has so many yards and points.

What they gloss over is the offense disappearing in the 4th quarter against Los Angeles. The FOUR turnovers that led to 20 1st quarter points for Atlanta. The two turnovers by Prescott at the end of the half and the first play of the 3rd quarter. Those turnovers swung that game. Then you have once again the disappearing act during the 2nd and 3rd quarters against Cleveland. They only woke up after being down 41-17 going into the 4th quarter. Making the score look closer than it actually was.

The defense is as bad as it's been for a very long time. But the offense is not blameless in the 1-3 start.

I guess this shows how defense is more important than offense. Despite being first in offense for almost all stats, we’re last in every stat on defense, which basically makes us 0-4, if the Falcons weren’t so stupid.

Defense wins championships.

These are some crazy stats that I thought I would share.

Offense
Yards per game= 509/game (historic pace)
2nd place is GB at 445/game
Top 5 is Dal, GB, Sea, Buff, and KC

Everyone but us is 4-0.....

Defense
Yards per game= 438 per game 29th in the NFL
Sea is dead last at 477/game but still 4-0. They are also +5 at TO differential.

Scoring defense- 146 points allowed- Dead Last (historic pace)
TO differential- -7..... Dead Last

Kind of crazy and some historic stuff going on in the first month. We could end up with the NFL’s best offense in history and allow the most points in history in the same year! Lol
Well seattle is 4-0 with a defense that allows more points than ours, yet people here are saying our defense is our only problem??
If seattle can be 4-0 how come we arent, our offense has eve scored more points, and dak thrown for more yards lol whats the deal?

yes we forced 4 punts against Cleveland lets stop being dramatic..i know where bad on D but dont need extra bs thrown on top..

Were they all in the second half? Lol serious question. I must’ve turned the game off by then. Couldn’t continue to put myself thru that.

The offense is only 'failing us' because our defense is so swiss cheese that opposing teams are scoring nearly every time they get the ball. The offense's turnovers are a big problem, but even with those, our offense shouldn't have to put up 40+ points a game to win

Their defense actually gets turnovers

Seattle is a perfect example, Dead last in total Defense. Second in total Offense, but plus 5 TO.
4-0.......

I wonder how they are +5 in turnovers? Oh, that's right. Their defense actually forces them. Ours has 2 the entire year. Even if this offense had 0 turnovers and played mistake free every single play, we would still be only +2. That is very bad. I have never seen a defense in my lifetime this allergic to making plays

100% agree. Perennially allergic too...

i beleive 2 were in row in the second half which is why Dak was able to make that attempt at comeback but i believe they had one or two in the first half.. like i sad we know the defense is bad but they have had stops , sacks, and if not for the Turnovers by ours offense maybe they wouldn't have so many short fields to contend which BTWE also makes them be out there 20 plus more plays a game that wears on team already short handed..

these losses looked at much closer are team losses , coaches, defense, ST coach doing some high risk calls, and yes the offense turning it over and not scoring in last games 2nd and 3rd qtr.. also this is not new this happened quite often last year

no one phase being fixed is goig to right the ship, full team meeting needed and they all need to dig down deep, refocus and get on track..

yup and RW has been sacked 2 more times then Dak and has 1/3 the mistakes..

Ok you guys make a good point on turnovers, but lets look deeper into that.
Our defense does not get turnovers, but it does not hurt the offense, it just does not help them. So what your saying is our offense needs those
turnovers to win, and they dont or shouldnt.
Now the offense has turned the ball over, a bunch and at crucial times, and most in their end of field or at mid field, giving the other team
a short field. That does hurt the defense, because now they are back out there, and are defending a short field. Cleveland only had to go 34 yds
for the td that put them up 21-14.
and when you have a bad defense, the worst thing a offense can do is turn it over in their end of field.
Turnovers dont help a offense if they are in the other teams end, like the one to 35 yd line range. It just takes away the other teams chance to score.
Like the cleveland int at the one, that didnt help their offense, it just stopped dallas from a chance to score.
All turnovers help the team, but only some actually help the offense.

And our offense turning the ball over is worse than the defense not getting any.
Our offense knows they have to carry the load, they know what their defense is like, and they are not carrying the load good enough to win.
Russell is carrying the load good enough to win, and granted those turnover by their defense have helped them, but I think they would win
regardless if they have turnovers or not.
It might be interesting to look at how many times the Seattle offense has turned over the ball compared to Dallas.
Dallas has put most of the emphasis on building a good offense, not building a good defense, and this is the result.
They chose to pay amari and elliot, and let byron our best cb walk .
Not getting turnovers is scheme and coaching, and not letting players ad lib or have imput, so part of the defensive issues is totally
on the coaching and schemes.
