So before everyone goes nuts, I know we need defense and I do not see this happening. BUT I THINK regardless if Pitts some how happens to fall to us at 10 we just have to take him, with his upside and talent and what he would do for our offense as a whole plus the possibility of losing Gallup. I think its a no brainer pick.
Now at pick 44 if one of the top rated OT falls to us such as a Cosmi or Leatherwood and they are rated higher than a Def player, do we make that pick?
Do we go back to a team like in Daks first year where we maul teams keep the ball longer and our Def becomes better for it. Just a thought and wanted to hear what you all think if we went that way?
I know I cant wait for the draft either so killing time LOL.
Happy Easter or Holidays to all.

In the mocks I've done the offensive lineman I've seen fall to 44 are IOL guys like DIckerson (21) and Meinerz (40). But the best value picks have been on defense. I would think they would probably take a hard look at the highest rated CB on their board.

I had mocks where we traded back for two seconds and traded up for Pitts late in the first.

I’ve also had mocks where we got Sewell with our 1st overall and traded up to get Slater 25th.

I had one mock where we got Smith AND Chase!

Another mock I did we got Pitts with our overall pick and Parsons with our 2nd.

The latest mock I did I passed on Pitts but ended up with Slater, Sewell and Rouseau.

as much as that makes sense, im still going to resist and say trade down , fix the defense and lets move forward.

we have far far too much invested in Receivers and OL and on the O side of the ball, its so slanted the boat listed to one side and sank last year...

im not on board with BPA on offense, im more for trading down to make the defensive picks not reaching, gaining picks and packaging SOME LOWER PICKS FOR LATER TO MOVE UP AND GRAB OUR ACUTAL DEFNSEIVE TARGETS,,

so at first you move down , then later use the extra picks to move back up when target is close..

we need a strategic draft for defense our offense is beyond loaded with talent and cap hits

seriously the OL bs is old,

all the doctors here that say LC is done is stupid, sorry it is he had his best year in 2019 and not one word his injurys is career threatening, we have taken McGovern, Biadasz, and added OL depth both through the draft and undrafted guys and FA , we have starters plus depth , you cant keep asking for PB at every POL postion..

let dak and that skilled offense who are overpaid learn to adapt to normal OL, i mean some on here wanted to call out Dalton yet he played with patchwork 3rd string OL and made plays..umm hey 40mil boy wonder, figure it out like Watson and Wilson have had to do, adapt, scheme etc If you cant find a solid starting group out of TS, Cwill, Mcgovern, Biadsz, martin, LC , Knight, steele, Ty N., and adding late OL inthe draft or another FA like Looney or Senat still around..if the OL coach which did great job all season IMO cant work with that and our overpaid skill positional players cant adapt and succeed, 2022 needs them all cut or traded etc..move on time because having a need all 5 OL positions PBs is ridiculous and unnecessary.

no wrs no OL No early RBs we have those on big deals and sick of hearing we need more weapons', seriously?

No there are very good defenders in this draft they just happen to not be high up in the first but mid first and lower its not a reach..

you say no generational defenders, seriously how do you know? you are guessing its why payers lie TJ watt fall late in the first, Brady a 6th rounder, seriously,..

hey evaluators you overthink, over evaluate, and get stuck on the ridiculously long process for the pre draft mocks that have people going back and forth..

there will be great defenders that turn in PB years all over this draft..find them!

One of these 4 will be available at #10

Slater
Parsons
Surtain
Horn

really going out in the limb there I know. I think Sewell will be gone at 5 and the trump card is what does Atlanta do? Will they take qb 4 or go Pitts
#1 qb
2 qb
3 qb
4 Pitts or qb
5 Sewell
6 Pitts or devonte Smith or chase
7 WR or Parsons
8 qb?
9 ? Maybe cb or Pitts

while I would love to have option of Pitts I just don’t see him falling but if he does run that card up

Whoever the pick is at 44 I'm sure we will be told they had a first round grade on him.

They like to do that and gloat at the PC.

Jerry with that cat who ate the canary smirk....with no accounting at all for the fact that the grade may be wrong.

There isn't any chance Pitts falls to 10. OL value at 44 won't be higher than a defensive player.
I didn’t think so. The more I see mocks and see info leaking, it’s possible. QBs are going to likely be 4-5 of the 9 in front of us. Then you have Sewell, Slater, Surtain, Chase, Waddle, Smith.

Atlanta, Detroit are the two wild cards.

A month ago I would’ve said 100% he’s not lasting to 10. But with the influx of quarterbacks it’s a higher chance

What will determine our first pick will center on how many QBs will be taken early. It could be as many as 5 in the first 8 picks. Because the QB position has become THE most important for all teams, many teams at the top of the draft now reach for a QB who actually has 2nd or 3rd round talent.

With that in mind, if a guy like Sewell or Pitts falls to the 10th pick, you have to strongly consider taking them. Especially if your scouting dept says they have them rated as a potential lasting star and HOFer. Don’t get me wrong, we need to draft a lot of defensive help. But when it comes to drafting at the top of the talent pool, you can’t be just one sided in your thinking.

Truth is, this team has so many needs I don’t think it’s insane to draft Pitts or Sewell if they slide to us. Yes, defense is a priority but that can’t force you wear blinders when it comes to drafting priorities. If you pass on a guy that’s a future HOFer just because you’re only looking at one side of the ball, you will eventually kill your talent base.

Jerruh just paid insane money to Dak, I would be surprised if he didn’t take offense to help improve his investment. If Dak doesn’t perform like the second highest paid player in the league, then Jerruh will be taken to the woodshed again just like he has been with his highest paid RB fiasco.

LLLOOOLLL, STOP I got 5 on it.

Why does everyone insist we will take an OT in the 1st round. You take an OT that high, he needs to be a day 1 starter. We do not need a day 1 starter for the OL.
They been saying Collins and Smith are coming along fine in rehab. By the time the draft comes along, they will still believe they are still the starters.

I have no issues with Pitts, if for some reason he falls, as Lamb fell to us last year.
