Offense is priority.

Our defense has shown what it is capable of. We've been drafting defense for the last decade, its time for offense.

We need to plug our holes on defense with some play making veteran(s), specifically at safety. If we can get Sharper or Atogwe we're clearly set coming off where we were at the end of last year, which was clearly dominate. Depth is going to propel this defense to a new level next year.

Only crews I can see adding rookie help to is the secondary and defensive lines.

I'd love to draft Alualu, let him compete with Bowen, and Hatcher for the starting spot and move Spears to Nose Tackle behind Ratliff replacing Siavii. I don't know maybe he'd have more success there anyways.

The problem with our team last year was our offense. Inconsistent and sometimes simply couldn't score, or put the defense in really bad situations.

Thats the reason why I'd be all for getting a player like Dez Bryant. Look at Tom Brady when he had three legit receiver threats in 2007. Not even including Roy Williams. I'm not totally giving up on Roy Williams, but looking at the players we could have got makes me furious. I wanted Roy Williams, but I knew we gave up too much for him, and paid him too much.

But imagine this

2007 Patriots - 2010 Cowboys
Randy Moss - Miles Austin
Wes Welker - Jason Witten
Donté Stallworth - Dez Bryant

McCluster would be a pretty good addition to the RB Corps as well.

We need more speed and athleticism on offense. More Terry Glenn and less Keyshawn Johnson.

That said I'm still high on Jordan Shipley, simply because he runs great routes, and catches everything. Nothing is more Romo friendly than that. Perfect replacement for Patrick Crayton.

I am all for rumors trading Marion Barber, simply because I see him the same way I see Terrell Owens now. A player although talented is holding back this offense, and T.O. was a much more talented receiver than Barber is a running back.

We also need to infuse this offensive line with youth. If we're completely sold on Doug Free, you don't draft a tackle in the first. You would have to at least go after a guard. If you're going to give up a draft pick for a tackle, you need to get Jared Gaither plain and simple.

Offensive line to be exact IMO

When you watch a cowboys game, you see the stark difference between our offensive line and the offensive line you see when you watch a colts game.

Romo is always running for his life almost instantly. Our line is the most blitzed line in the NFL.

We have to become more romo friendly.

- More athletic and quick offensive linemen
- Start Felix Jones. Teams that blitz fast running backs, get burnt. Especially by the HB screen (which we get burnt by a lot).

I'll be shocked if we ever get away from the road grader type oline

Big slow guys in the middle whiff often. Personally I want a new center, to me Gurode is the most over rated center in the league. He's money if he gets his hands on you but if not, well you're gonna be chasing Romo....

I have to agree he is somewhat of a liability in the passing game.

There really isn't anyone on our offensive line that I would say can not be replaced. And we should be actively doing so.

We could spend every draft pick we have on offensive linemen, and I wouldn't shed a tear.

I think we have 6 draft picks, and I'm sure we'd end up with at least 6 new linemen on the 53 man roster. And probably one or two more starters.

I agree with Schlereth who said on multiple occasions that Romo makes that line look way better than they are. If the Viking didnt convince you, nothing will. I dont know about first round, but the draft should produce two future O Line starters.

Agreed - I would love Jerry to draft 3 O linemen this year

an as for UDFAS I like to see a couple more

Only way this draft produces 2 starters is if we trade for Gaither.

Generally you're lucky if you get 2 starters in an entire draft class, let alone 2 on the offensive line.

I say trade for a quality OL. Free Agency and trades have been what has worked in regards to the OL. The Cowboys have been drafting OL every year over and over and most of them have been complete flops. I don’t trust the scouting department with the OL position. Trade Barber, draft another running back and a top WR (Shipley).

At least he finally stopped launching snaps into the rafters. :laugh2:

We're on the exact same page, probably on the same sentence.

He's learned a few new tricks tho. Our center can now false start, bounce a snap off of his inner thigh and hold on plays that are past the line. I agree, it's time to draft a good center.

I disagree. We're one or two playmakers away from having a number 1 caliber defense. I think we should go defense in the draft...fill the holes on offense with veteran players.

The OL needs to be addressed - big time.

:hammer:

Why can't some of those Dez Bryant lovers see this also?

What veteran players are you talking of?
