Offense is priority.

I'll be shocked if we ever get away from the road grader type oline

Then we are in for another 13 years of marginal oline play. Eventually Jerry is going to see it is a passing league and you have to protect your QB. Hopefully it will be before Romo gets killed or retires.

Thats my biggest fear with this team. I mean we can waste away our window with crappy o-line play and ruin Romo in the process, total shame that would be. He takes to much of a beating as it is now. If we miss out on 2-3 picks our window will shut even sooner. Who knows when we will find another qb like Romo, we went into qb apostasy after Aikman retired, it could be a while....

Our defense has shown what it is capable of. We've been drafting defense for the last decade, its time for offense.

We need to plug our holes on defense with some play making veteran(s), specifically at safety. If we can get Sharper or Atogwe we're clearly set coming off where we were at the end of last year, which was clearly dominate. Depth is going to propel this defense to a new level next year.

Only crews I can see adding rookie help to is the secondary and defensive lines.

I'd love to draft Alualu, let him compete with Bowen, and Hatcher for the starting spot and move Spears to Nose Tackle behind Ratliff replacing Siavii. I don't know maybe he'd have more success there anyways.

The problem with our team last year was our offense. Inconsistent and sometimes simply couldn't score, or put the defense in really bad situations.

Thats the reason why I'd be all for getting a player like Dez Bryant. Look at Tom Brady when he had three legit receiver threats in 2007. Not even including Roy Williams. I'm not totally giving up on Roy Williams, but looking at the players we could have got makes me furious. I wanted Roy Williams, but I knew we gave up too much for him, and paid him too much.

But imagine this

2007 Patriots - 2010 Cowboys
Randy Moss - Miles Austin
Wes Welker - Jason Witten
Donté Stallworth - Dez Bryant

McCluster would be a pretty good addition to the RB Corps as well.

We need more speed and athleticism on offense. More Terry Glenn and less Keyshawn Johnson.

That said I'm still high on Jordan Shipley, simply because he runs great routes, and catches everything. Nothing is more Romo friendly than that. Perfect replacement for Patrick Crayton.

I am all for rumors trading Marion Barber, simply because I see him the same way I see Terrell Owens now. A player although talented is holding back this offense, and T.O. was a much more talented receiver than Barber is a running back.

We also need to infuse this offensive line with youth. If we're completely sold on Doug Free, you don't draft a tackle in the first. You would have to at least go after a guard. If you're going to give up a draft pick for a tackle, you need to get Jared Gaither plain and simple.

the 2007 Patriots offense got owned by defense in the Superbowl. last time I checked our defense got owned by the Vikings. heck both our offense and defense got owned by the Vikings.

Maurkice Pouncey , Anthony Davis or Earl Thomas in the 1st
Javier Arenas in the 2nd
Donald Butler in the 3rd
and Jason Fox in the 4th and I guarantee 13-3 or better with a Super Bowl victory.

Yeah but the offense not scoring had more to do with it than anything else..

Gaither-Iupati-Gurode-Davis-Free

Young and talented, and better than what we have right now.

A guy can dream, can't he?

This is absolutely ridiculous. Not a single player even remotely compares to the one you have them matched up with.

Witten> Welker

Austin in 09< Moss in 07

Bryant> Stallworth

The defense actually held its own for the most part, but turnovers and miscues by the offense really set the defense up poorly.

The 2007 Patriots lost 17-14. Their offense clearly wasn't on fire, but it was hardly owned.

That Patriot offense set a bunch of records and when Brady was told about Plaxico's Superbowl prediction of Giants 21-Patriots 17, Tom Brady laughed and said "you think we're only gonna score 17 points?"

I see you back pedal well...
There's no backpedaling at all. If we Gaither on the team, Free would replace Colombo. I've never said that Free is better than Gaither. He may turn out to be, but as of right now, Gaither has proven soundly that he can play at a very high level at LT and Free hasn't yet.

Free is obviously a prototypical left tackle, however, and anyone who thinks not is just confused.
