Offense sells tickets

Don't tell Tom Brady and his 4 superbowl rings this.

Pats defense played a big part in that as well. Last SB with the seahawks going in for the lead and likely the win it was the Pats defense who made a stand and capped that game off

Maybe..

but offense has always been the feature of any championship we have ever won.

We need another WR and RB and a backup QB.

Do that and take our ample cap and sign defense out of FA.

Do this..and we are immediately relevant.

Try to dump a bunch of draft picks into the defense and we will have more of the same as it take time for defensive players to develop.

Offensive guys if skilled immediately impact the game.

And we are only going to keep this fabled OL together a short period of time.

I say add offensive weapons and roll the dice.

Offense has been important but tell Denver when Dallas beat them in the SB it was Randy White and Harvey Martin walking away with the MVP of the game. Dallas vs Buffalo the Dallas defense destroyed Buffalo getting numerous turnovers and big plays. I can't recall any SB game that Dallas played where defense was not a key part of those teams.

Actually we've had an outstanding defense in those Super Bowl years.

I agree that defense is important. No doubt.....I just don't agree with this notion that its so much more important than offense. Its easy to watch the Broncos win the superbowl and proclaim the code has been cracked. The reality is much different. Scoring is just as important as stopping the other team from scoring. Its also important to realize that having a defensive unit come together and play the way the Broncos have played this year isn't as easy as just adding a few pieces in free agency and the draft. Just as the Panthers don't have the most talented offense in the league (even when they were putting up crazy points at will), the Broncos don't necessarily have the most talented defense in the league. The reality is that there is no exact formula for winning superbowls and it can be achieved in many different ways.

We spend so much time trying to find the secret formula for winning....we hear about WR's not mattering, RB's not mattering, QB's only need to be bus drivers, OL being the most important, Pass rush being the most important, Shutdown Corners being the most important ect ect....
This sport changes from one year to the next. Worst to first isn't uncommon. First to worst isn't either... there isn't only 1 way to win. The game has too many moving parts.

I think both are important but normally what you see with great defense is the ability to keep the score down even vs top ranked offense which allows you to keep the game in reach for the win. I'm not saying offense is not important it is. I think most SB winning teams do have quality units on both sides of the ball. I think often offense will over shadow the defense like the Cowboys triplets did in the 90's but when you look at those SB teams, we had some very good defensive units who were able to go out and make big plays and create turnovers.

I understand what makes a top receiver and it's production not money. Seattle didn't have a top receiver when they won the Super Bowl and that was my argument which apparently you didn't understand.

So you can win the superbowl paying a wr.... Wr1 money.... Who is producing like a wr3.... But you can't win the superbowl paying a wr.... Wr1 money... Who is producing like a Wr1?

That's you're argument?

Go sit in the corner.

You obviously weren't paying attention that wasn't even close to my argument. My argument was that Seattle didn't have a top receiver when they won the SB. Money doesn't make a top receiver production does. Now you go sit in the corner and start paying attention or you'll be staying after class.

The issue is money allocation. Pay attention.

Some people have made the claim that the money tied up in a wr means you can't field an all round competitive team.

It was always hogwash and has been disproven multiple times.

You've never proven me wrong on anything you're just looking to get cornered as usual. Once you get pinned you'll take off I know your MO. LOL

Many people have proved you wrong this thread. You either refuse to admit it or you don't comprehend the argument.

No one's prove me wrong you just have the same agenda the other guy has. PRODUCTION makes a top WR not the amount of money they make and that can't be proven wrong. Case closed!

It was closed the moment you butted into the middle of a discussion you didn't understand.

Just for giggles here is a chart of All Pro and Pro Bowl players on the SB teams for the last 20 years and it explains why DAL hasn't gone. It is all about having elite Safety play. All Pro QBs haven't won since 1999 and Kurt Warner.

ps- as you can see, WR is well represented.

It was closed the moment I proved the poster who claimed Seattle had a top WR when they won the SB in 2014 wrong and at least he had enough sense not to respond back and try to argue it. Anyone who thinks Percy Harvin who only played in 6 games for Seattle in the 2 years he was there and produced only 150 yards receiving and whose most productive season was 967 yards in 2011 with Minn was a top WR based off the over priced contract he signed with Seattle hasn't a clue and is a waste of my time.

Delusional and stubborn is an interesting combo

With the Cowboys even losing sells tickets.

So true. Really tired of seeing guys like Dez and Romo (Our supposed leaders) talking about Super Bowls every offseason. This team needs to refocus and start holding themselves accountable. Until that happens we aren't going anywhere. It is unfortunate that our coaching staff can't figure out how to motivate these players. D-ware is a good example of this. At times when he was here I felt like he was only giving 80%, but in Denver he was hungry. It's easy to blame the scheme but maybe we need another hard nosed coach like Parcells. He did a hell of a lot more with a hell of a lot less.
