Offensive & Defensive Paces

In the pre-season I talked about what type of scoring paces I would like to see from the Offense and the Defense.

As of right now the Cowboys are on pace to score 400 points.

The Defense is on pace to allow 329.6.


The Offense is slightly below the pace I wanted. The Defense is slightly ahead of the pace I wanted.

However, I believe in shifting expectations when the reality of the season is upon you. I would like to see the Offense score 430 points and the Defense allow under 300. I won't be disappointed if these things do not happen, but I do believe both marks are possible.

We're talking about shifts of 6 points per game both ways.

Yeah, they're possible, but probably a tad optimistic.

I don't think you factored in before the season that our QB would play with broken ribs for a month or Miles Austin would miss so much time.

I'll take 27 to 17 all day long and twice on Sundays.
