We have the weapons and the "gadget" type of players to be creative, and actually succeed doing so. I would like to see some wild cat formations, have Pollard in the QB position, line Dak at WR and bring Cobb in motion on a reverse. Pitch it to Cobb on the reverse and now he has two options. Throw it to our 6'2 240lb QB (Cobb use to play QB) or he can run it. We can line up in Shotgun formation with Zeke and Austin in the backfield. Run a little RPO fake it to Zeke and Throw it to Austin on a Screen. Very rarely does the opposing defense have there #1 CB match up against our #1 (Amari). Put Amari in the slot formation a little more and let him go to work against the teams Nickel CB. We can run bubble screen plays to Austin or Cobb as well just to get them more involved and being creative while doing so. I want to see more roll out designed plays for Dak, spread the offense out in a 5 WR set and let him go to work. Also I think we should run hurry up offense a lot more. Dak has control of the offense he can run the Hurry Up effectively. Mike Zimmer knew that, that's why he called that Time Out on 4th and 5. What are you thoughts? Or suggestions for this offense to be more creative? Thanks For Reading.

I wouldn't call the wildcat "creative," but they do run gadget plays. They just tried a reverse pass with Cobb and Austin's TD run was pretty gadgety.

I do think they should run a lot more screens, but that's been true for a decade. As for the bubble screens, yea:

I guess the concept wouldn't be considered creative since it isn't anything new I agree, but we have the players to add a little more creativity to our offense, and the wildcat formation is one way of doing that. And oh my that bubble screen was money, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for sharing.

Execution, Execution, Execution. Which , is lacking. Wanting it more than the other team. Completely lacking in some players minds.

Oh, Execution...

I mean... Right now I think just having playcalls that don't put us at a disadvantage needs to be our top priority.

We can't even do that.. Much less be creative.

maybe the lack of creativity is putting us at some of those disadvantages. Our QB is ranked 2nd in passing and Our WR is ranked 3rd in receiving so the productivity is there according to the numbers. Unfortunately they haven't produced more wins. Which is the ultimate goal.

This has been the best rated offense in the league. Attention to detail is much more of a problem across the whole team than schemes.

For once this teams biggest problem is NOT scheme, it’s discipline.

Yes there are playcalling questions every now and again but Moore has not been criticized near the extent that Linehan was last year.

Defensively the problem last week was tackling more than scheme. Players were in position to bring Cook down. They just didn’t.

Oh, Execution...

Execution comes back to discipline and accountability and therefore coaching

until we have a real HC we are toast

ok, how often do you propose to run those gadget plays....once a game!!!

you have to make your regular offense effective specially in pressure situations before resorting to gadget plays....does NE run gadget plays? does NO? do the Rams?

come on man

Wasn't there a play in the Vikings game where Cobb actually threw the ball? That's pretty creative. We have like one creative play a game, and after we play it, Garrett likely tells Moore to cut it out. "You got your creative flea-flicker like play, kid. Now run the ball and do what I said."
Like I said, it all rides down to Garrett, He gets the final say so in all calls. Moore would likely be more successful and creative on a team with a HC that actually wants to keep his job.

Yea...

It's like they say "Ok we're going to run our gimmick play in the second quarter." Event heir gimmicky stuff is scripted and risk-averse.

Very True. In due time. Is it a fact that JG is meddling in the offensive game plan and he gets the final call? Or are you basing it off the eye test and history of this team.

a little more creativity might've helped us produce more than 10 points against the Saints. 6-3 sounds a lot better than 5-4.

I think there was actually an article or tweet or something that said that Garrett would help Moore since he's only a rookie OC, especially in bigger games (Packers, Vikings, Saints are examples). Also, it would be kind of stupid to leave your rookie OC by himself with no assistance, even if the person helping him is an imbecile like Garrett. A little bit of eye-test too though. After the Vikings game, in a post game interview, Garrett commented on wanting to continue using the run game going forward and how we still should have used it more in the game . That's proof enough to me that he was partially responsible for some of those first down runs...

**Lincoln Riley has entered the Chat** LOL.

Sure, but I think the Saints was more about being aggressive/conservative, rather than creative. That's a fine line though lol.
