Offensive line had a bad game

They shut the run down because the Texans attacked the LOS with run blitzes, stacked lines, etc.

It doesn’t matter how good an OL you have, if a team wants to put more defenders than blockers in the box, it’s going to be tough to run.

The Texans had no fear of Dak and this passing game.

Prepare yourself for a repeat this weekend. Jax has a better secondary than Houston. So they will have no problem using their LBs and safeties to crash the OL and try to slow Elliott.

Until Dak makes teams pay, this OL is going to be under assault in the run game.

This.

The OL is going to be under constant barrage until Dak can actually stretch the defense.

Nobody respects him anymore so they focus on stopping the run and dink-n-dunk Dak.

Bring back the oline coach they let walk to Washington! Pay him what he wants. And fire everyone except maybe Richard, and he still should not be safe.
CINCY HAS OUR OLINE COACH. Unless you mean Callahan.

The OL has not been good for quite a while. Typical decay, even with the talent, expected when the coaching is terrible and the culture is not about winning.

They weren't loading the box. Not like Carolina was in week one.

You're right about having no fear of Prescott, nobody does any more, but they weren't selling out to stop the run.

They did. I am watching some of the replay now and they often had 8 guys with the S within 5-7 yards of the LOS. They lined their OLB on the line a lot as well essentially showing a 5 man front too quite a bit. They run blitzed a lot too. On that Austin ricochet interception, that was first and ten and they ran a clear run blitz there for example.

This isn’t to say the OL played great. They didn’t.

But I think some people (not saying you) are unloading on the OL because they are struggling to blame arguably the biggest culprit in the run game - that teams simply aren’t scared of our WRs and QB.

Everyone can agree Houston's OL is bad but they decided that they would not sit back and let the pressure get tot he QB. They made calls that got the ball out with in 2 seconds of the snap. Watson saw the pressure and made a call for a quick pass. Dak can't even read a slot blitz when his WR calls it out.

HOU passed for 375 yards.
You don't do that on check downs or quick outs.
Watson had all day plenty of times.
HOU couldn't run it at all but they pass blocked very well.
44 pass attempts and we had 1 sack and only a handful of solid pressures.
HOU WRs were catching the ball wide open.

Everyone forgets When you have pass DL tee off same with when the only way to mve the ball is to run DC will make you earn the yardage. Houston was playing the run on the way to Dak. When was the last time Dak took a 3 step drop and fired out a slant or some other quick developing blitz beating pass play. He sees blitz and they still run 10 yard patterns.

Watson scrambled out of quite a few would be sacks.

I’ll say this though. I started to get excited in the preseason that Taco had flipped the switch. But he looks blah out there now.

No, they weren't.
If they were we would have won, lol.
We ran the ball on 3rd and 2 and gained half a yard.
That is why Garrett was a coward and punted.
He had less confidence in this OL than he has all year.

Zeke had 54 yards on 20 rushes. He was hit in the backfield virtually every play.

Understood. I just think the pass pro was good enough that Dak should have been able to muster one more FG in regulation.

Coutee was eating them up on hot plays. Watson was well below 10 yards a catch until the last pass to Hopkins.

Agreed.

Best call of the night was early in game, that screen to Swaim. Houston was attacking the line on 2nd and 5 and we had the perfect call.

brooo, you are posting nonsense.
pure, utter nonsense.
dak was throwing 5 yard routes all game.
there was no time for deep routes. ....

I'm beginning to wonder if our new OL coach is actually earning his keep.

I imagine we'll stick with him for now until the OL has more time together.

I didn't see them loading up as much as Carolina did. But what I did see was players crashing downhill with no fear of being beaten by the pass.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not denying that fact at all.

those arent hot plays... ffs, coutee is a tech guy that i know well... he was simply sitting down in ZONES.

Prescott has no sens of timing whatsoever, and in my opinion, it's the biggest single issue with he and this entire passing game. Rarely is there a play where the ball comes out at the top of his drop on time. There is always hesitation and uncertainty.

This doesn’t prove he has zero time. It’s been shown even when he has had time, he’s often gone to the check down anyway. His pocket awareness has gone screwy. Not sure if that’s PTSD from the Atlanta game but it’s been pointed out numerous times during games that he often “feels” pressure when it’s not actually there.

Dak was under pressure for a lot of the game, but so was Watson. The difference is Watson made the plays when he was supposed to, but Dak couldn't handle it. He was only sacked twice.

Tyron and La'el had their hands full the entire game, but still held their own at least for the most part. And I wouldn't put too much stock in Martin's behavior after the game. I saw the same thing you did and it looked to me like he was just talking to his brother, who plays Center for Houston.
Watson was under pressure? Really? When? How many pressures or sacks did Watson receive? Name the plays. The game I saw, Watson constantly had all day to eat a sandwich and drink tea while waiting for his receivers to get open.

Our OL coach, WR coach and QB coach we’re all questionable hires.

His patterns were meant as pressure relief similar to RB dump-offs he never ran more than a 10 yard pattern. He is more athletic faster version of Beasley.
