Guys who will be in our range (#28):

Brian Bulaga, Iowa, OT, 6'6, 320lbs

Charles Brown, USC, 6'6, 298lbs

There are actually a good number of prospects that should be available late first. Odds say we should be able to land one of these guys. I personally think we would grab Ciron Black if he is there b/c of our affinity for LSU; Black is also from Tyler and he'd love to play here. Trent Williams is from Longview and would be sick.

Ugh, its always depressing when i start seeing draft talk.

Trent Williams of OU is terrible. I'd be upset as heck if we wasted a pick on that loser.

but a lot less depresseing when we at least are playing well enough to put the talk after the season. where it belongs.

i was tired of talking draft 6 weeks ago when people felt our season was over then.

left tackle is priority number one in this years draft

not sure about that. i've heard a lot of people say free has the talent / feet to be a left tackle. not sure what "left tackle feet" are but i heard more than 1 announcer say free had 'em.

Not for me this year. At least it seems that the team has a really strong foundation to build on.

Whoever the tackle is.. he better have the athleticism to play LT.

I don't want us to draft a future "LT" only to have him play RT or guard because he's not athletic enough.

I agree. I think Free would make a great RT, especially if he adds some bulk to his frame. The question is, does Flozell come back for one more year?

I've watched Ciron Black play quite a bit. I'm an LSU season ticket holder. I think he dropped of a bit this last year, but he is a mean and nasty player. Something this oline needs.

he's a projected 1st. You think he blew protection a lot?

If that's a question for me then I thought he sucked big time every time I watched them play this year. He was a part of an O-Line that was terrible for OU this year, which was to be expected given they were very young, but he was suppose to stand out, head and shoulders, as the big time player for them and even all my OU fan friends were extremely disappointed in his poor play this year.

I think the guy is terrible and I hope we don't even think about looking at him. Of course, that said, if we draft him, while I'd be really unhappy about it, I'd certainly root for him to prove me completely wrong.

You think he can succeed Flo? Flo is DONE imo. We need Free fulltime at RT too.

the only two are worth picking IMO

Bruce Campbell, Maryland, Junior, OT, 6'7, 310lbs
Brian Bulaga, Iowa, OT, 6'6, 320lbs

Height: 6-6. Weight: 312.
Projected 40 Time: 5.02.
Projected Round (2010): Top 25 Pick.

Bruce Campbell, Maryland
Height: 6-7. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 4.94.
Projected Round (2010): Top 10 Pick

how are this in our range ?

Yeah, I think he can. The SEC is no slouch when it comes to developing pass rushers, and therefore LT's.

This guy has a mean streak that would remind you of an Erik Williams in his prime.

He is also a good character guy and is very religious.

He would probably have gone early 1st round, but I think he had a subpar year this year. Which is still a good year when you look at other tackles outside of the SEC.

Flo is not done til we have someone better. Now lets go get somone better!

If you are drafting properly you take the best player available give or take a slot or two (if need overlaps BPA). But I guess we could try to move up or down to get the right player at the right value.

this is not a draft for BPA early,we need to target a lt and even move up to get him.

Drafting for need can bite you in the butt more times than not.

All drafts should be for BPA (or something very close to it). Now if we were to, as you say, trade up to make it happen...fine. As long as we trade at or near a slot where we are getting a LT whose value matches that slot. Drafting for need but not getting fair value is the kiss of death in this league....it has ruined many a team.
