Ferguson will be an all pro and the DBs with Bland and Diggs will be phenomenal. I feel the offensive line will struggle first half of the season and then come in very strong in the 2nd half. That will cause our running game to get good for the stretch run. I feel the key to the season will be can we survive emotionally the first month of the season. If we can then I think we can compete for a playoff spot.I'm in the 10-7 camp at the moment. We haven't lost that much talent (LT being the biggest loss), we had no run game last season either and our defense only worked against the little kids.
My assessment of the status quo:
Dak - the same
o line - will start off slightly worse than what we had last year (TS played 13 games) but will be fine over the course of the season
running game - ugh
receivers - not worried (Dak CAN throw you know... CD will be great, Cooks a good 2nd, Fergie will be better, Zeke can catch balls too)
DTs - really not sure, but at least as good/bad as last year
LBs - still mediocre, not season ending bad
secondary - I have high hopes, Diggs, Bland and the new kid (who actually tackles lol) should be a nice group. Much will rely on how Diggs has recovered from his injury though. If he's a no show, it could get ugly quickly
PAT/FG -
ST - I have no idea
so overall I think we'll make the play offs.
Oh, and I don't consider that as good news btw. It'll just keep us on the tracks to mediocrity land forever. Too good for high draft picks, too bad for achieving anything worthwile. The Dak homers will celebrate his stats once again and blame his teammates for our early play off exit.
Sooo, same **** different season I guess.
You have a tad more faith than I do. But looking at the schedule I am glad we play our tough conference games early and have more division games and the Panthers late in the season. I also agree that finishing at home is a plus. It’ll be an interesting season and I’m looking forward to the roller coaster and the excitement. I’m also looking forward to seeing how these young cats develop. If our rookie offensive lineman play good and we get some second year jumps from last year’s draft then we can make some noise. It’ll be fun. It always isWow!! We actually close at home for a change!! I'm shocked (seriously). Not a horrible schedule. I could see us going 11-6.
So Guyton is an All Pro this year?Again no. Smith is about done and we are improved at center.
All Pro is not pro bowl though BD.That is way WAY overrated. You know how the pro bowl is.
And Smith could get hurt at anytime and is almost a part time player now.
Yup, this is exactly what I wanted. Let's find out what this team is made of earlier rather than laterLove it. The front end of this schedule has some real potential for immediate change.
I don't think we'll be 0-3. I see us as 2-2 with wins against the Aints and Gnats. The stretch I'm mores concerned with is weeks 5-11.......... might go 1-5 there if it's based on rosters alone.Man, that’s a tough start. 5 out of the first 7 we play the Ravens, Steelers, Browns Lions, 49ers. I know it’s massively early but that’s tough sledding. We’ll see what we got early. That Saints game could be huge for our psyche because if we start out 0-3 then the wheels can fall off quickly. It’s too early to predict and you never know what will happen.
All pro is not the pro bowl. It always carried more weightThat is way WAY overrated. You know how the pro bowl is.
And Smith could get hurt at anytime and is almost a part time player now.
Yeah. Well. McCarthy's toast instantly if how they poorly performed at the end of last season spills over into week one this season. That was against GB
Agreed, I was hoping for several of our first few to be against AFCN. Good defenses, last year anyway.. Let's see how Dak looks when he's got to put up some points against defenses that aren't part of the 32nd ranked defensive pass schedule like he had last year.Yup, this is exactly what I wanted. Let's find out what this team is made of earlier rather than later
