OK. Who are the short-term IR guys? I assume Wright might be one since he had the dreaded high-ankle sprain. Is Wilson still out? Ball was put on regular IR so he's out of the equation.

We need a third if we're going to bring back Goodwin, Sieg and Edoga.

I'd put Parsons there instead of DE. He'll line up at both, but we'll rarely play more than two LBs besides him. Most of the time, it will be him, Clark and LVE or Kearse, Clark and LVE. That leaves us with Bell backing up Kearse for the LB/S hybrid and Harper backing up LVE and Clark. Not ideal, but it's still six players who play linebacker at least part time.

Waletzko the back-up Center? I don't know about that.

Where did you get the idea that Waletzko would be the backup center? If anyone, I think it would be Bass. But most likely we sign one of our centers to the PS and bring them up for games for the first three weeks. Might even sign a couple since that gives us six weeks.

That will be the official roster for the next five minutes or so (okay, 24 hours at least). It will change a lot in the next few days.

Definitely will be interesting to see what they do at LB. It's thin. But if they are playing a ton of nickel, carrying 4 LBs + Parsons isn't terrible. I'd still like to see one vet LB in there though added to that group.

Only somewhat surprise is the Joseph for Noah Igbinoghene trade. I personally would have rather kept Joseph, gotten or pick, or traded for another position like LB.

I presume Ball and Wright may be headed for IR.

I think it was his consistently expressing the “basic reasoning skills of a potato” that lead to him sent packing. They went out of their way to showcase him in the slot… the intention always was to trade!

Keep in mind, Micah can play there, and Kearse and Wilson can play there in nickel. You never really have 3 traditional linebackers on the field anymore like the old days.

Yeah, Ball is already on IR now per BtB.

I would have to assume Wright is next as you said. 7 CBs is a lot and with Mukuamu able to play CB in a pinch as well, I see no need to carry that many CBs anyway.
