I know he never had a big arm but man how are we not talking about all those way underthrown passes and passes that looked like brad johnson threw them today lol.

I know he had back surgery but man. If he isn't healthy then don't play him. No use making the team suffer because of it. Heck i rather go with the young rookie and let him make those rookie mistakes tony made. (not saying start the rookie over romo, saying if romo back is bothering him and he cannot throw a good ball and make the throws than just bench him).

Agree with the arm strength.

He's always had the arm to make any throw but he has lost a ton of zip on his passes.

So Murray didn't give the niners 7 of their 28 points? I understand you're basically ignoring the first scoring play of the game, but I can't. The first job of a running back is to NOT fumble the ball.

Romo stunk. I'm not arguing that. I do think the majority of the offense had some level of hand in that stinkfest out there. Smith had a couple of penalties and a sack that was him getting his feet tangled on a stunt. Witten had his normal false start. Harris ran a couple of wrong routes and nearly fumbled two punts. Romo was the main culprit but pretty much everyone on the offense had a hand in it.

Even with the single rushing turnover, the running game and offensive line performance were among the best in the Garrett era. Tony's performance was by far his worst in that time frame. PS, don't forget to add his kill, kill at the 2 yard line to those other brain fart throws.* Tony was epically reckless and inaccurate, we can only hope that it was a mental condition causing the physically weak and inaccurate throws and not the converse. It was 90% Romo's fault, the best teams in the league couldn't have won with him at the helm Sunday. Doesn't mean he can't recover his form, but don't minimize his contribution to the loss by blaming others.

* Not hindsight, according to the team.
Romo saw a defensive look he didn't like and elected to pass, though it didn't seem the majority of the offensive line got the memo. Romo went down for a sack as Justin Smith breezed by Tyron Smith, who appeared to be run blocking or looking to wall off his defender to push him outside. Multiple linemen were near the goal line looking for linebackers to block.

Garrett said he didn't want to get into details about the communication issues going on during that play. DeMarco Murray, who averaged 5.4 yards per rush on the day, looked furious as he turned around to see Romo on the ground.

“I don't want to get into the details of that particular decision, but very easily could've run the ball in that situation,” Garrett said. “Hopefully in the future, we'll handle that situation better.”

Physically? I didn't notice that. What are you refferring to?

He struggled with his accuracy all day, fluttered his throws, and his deep balls were ducks.

He looked like a QB that was physically done, and for the organizations sake he better not look like that next week.

I don't know. Do you think the Witten end zone pick was a failed throw away attempt that he couldn't get enough power on? It seemed so odd to throw into triple coverage on that play.
Odd? Odd? Have you never watched Romo in December?

Simply, this has to move up:

Garrett went on to say Romo was trying to force the ball too much. And that his aggressiveness hurt the team. Romo went 23 of 37 passes for 281 yards, one score and three interceptions against the Niners. He registered a dismal total quarterback rating of 19.6. Romo was also sacked three times.

To put into prospective just how bad Romo played on Sunday, Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 32nd best quarterback during the NFL’s opening week. That ranking places him second to last, with only the Philadelphia Eagles Nick Foles having a worse performance. And Foles ended up winning his game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 34-17 come from behind victory.

His first pass to 83 was well thrown.

That's easily the worst Romo has ever looked.

His M.O. is to look fantastic all game, then make a couple of bonehead decisions that screws everything up.

Today he was just awful from start to finish. Poor throws, poor field awareness, poor decision making. I can't think of one good throw he made all day. He literally just threw up 4 or 5 prayers into double/triple coverage because he didn't know what else to do.

I've been a Romo supporter from day one, and my post history here will attest to that, but today was just brutal.
