Official: Cromartie to Jets for 2011 third rounder

Other teams are getting better and we're standing still. I thought this off season was supposed to be something to behold according to Jerry.

Standing pat we still have the draft and several months of the offseason to go. LOL I'm sure Jerry wants to see how things start shaping up during the draft before he starts wheelin and dealin. You have to remember the Cowboys are going to be somewhat limited because of the rules for playoff teams.

That was 2 years ago he's had 5 int's since. :toast:

Maybe you ought to look at the chargers pass rush over the last 2 years. Show me a good secondary with an average pass rush.

You conveniently chose not to respond to my statement that ANTHONY HENRY had 10 int's in a season. On a team with a bad pass rush as well.

Was he great?

I'd rather have Dunta. But we don't need another starter IMO. Scandrick came on the end of the year.

Well obviously the Chargers didn't see Cromarties decline from the season he had 2 years ago as being a result of their pass rush. Kinda looks like a one year wonder if you ask me and the fact they traded him for only a 3rd round pick pretty much tells you they didn't see him as being the same player who picked off 10 passes in 07.

Cromartie is 25 years old. I'd be willing to take the risk.

Chargers get a 2011 third-round pick that turns to a second-round pick based on Antonio Cromartie's play time and the Jets performance.
I'm betting this will remain a 3rd round pick.

Well the team that Made it to the AFC title game and who's secondary got torched by manning in the second half gave up basically nothing to get him. The jets have the best corner duo in the division, hands down!

So you thought Anthony Henry was great?

He didn't say he was great. He said it was a great season.

And yeah.

Anthony Henry had a great season.

Not really a fair comparison because AH got those 10 ints as a rookie FS and not a CB in Cleveland. At least that's what I remember.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And to think that one of the analyst on the NFL network said this morning the Chargers would be lucky to get a 5th for him.

We have bigger fish to fry than trading for Cromartie.

It was a good deal for the Jets Cromartie is young and sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders for a player. The Jets are banking with the right coaching they could possibly get the same productive Cromartie the Chargers had in 07.

it is 30 minutes into FA...take a Valium..........

jerry will make nessesary moves he isnt really calling shots anymore imo... Stephen and scouting dept are.

I like new nfl minus cap.. Things trend more than drastically change.

Imo they will look for oline help, saftey help. and possibly a nose tackle if someone comes up that we just cant pass on (sorry ratliff would be more effective one on one. he is a beast.. )

I am a bit surprised Cowboys were not all over this deal. A 3rd? For a still-young former first rounder w/proven ballhawking ability, and is also a Wade guy?

Not sure any team could field 4 better corners. Opposing offenses that like to go 4 wides would be fried.

I would classify a 10 int season as great.

So did you think Cassel was "great" after his one year wonder in New England?

Nickelback?

This dude is looking for a big money deal. He isn't going anywhere to be a nickel back.

Considering that Cromartie doesnt like to tackle, I dont get why everybody has a hard on for the guy. I have seen videos where Cromartie just pulls up and lets the RB go right by him with no attempt to tackle at all.

No thanks, the Jet can have him.

From the Jets perspective, because the trade was for a 2011 draft pick, it is better than a pick this year. I suspect that with many juniors coming out this year, that the 2011 draft likely won't be as deep.
