Not sure how this depth chart is supposed to be interpreted or if it really matters at all. But Dunbar #2 RB is weird. And Whitehead not listed as punt returner at all is weird.

Can't really complain about the offense. Interesting to see that Mills is the RT backup and Weems the LT backup. That means we have no swing tackle. I'm not too concerned about the RB listing. Michael just arrived and probably needs some time. You could argue Randle deserves first shot since he's been here the longest. I think Randle, McFadden and Michael will all get a chance this year. Interesting Dunbar is #2 but I think that's more because he's the only clear non-starter and will serve more of a slot receiver/change-of-pace role.

Defense has some frustrating things that I was expecting all along. 1) Hayden was handed the job yet again. I don't think he played a single TC/PS snap. 2) Mincey ahead of Gregory. I understand not trusting a rookie with the most important pass-rushing position, but c'mon, Gregory looks special. 3) Wilber at SLB. He honestly is probably our least talented LB. He's a veteran so that likely gives him the nod over Wilson and Smith, but he really has no business being ahead of guys who have made plays like Gachkar and even Wilson and Smith. 4) White being so low and Claiborne being so high. I think White showed to be the best CB on our roster. I understand giving Carr the nod since he's been the starter for so long, but Claiborne has done nothing to win the job. He's looked decent but White has looked better. Once again, it comes down to seniority. That explains Wilber > Gachkar, Claiborne > White, and more. 5) Starting two strong safeties once again. White and Jones are both listed as CBs. We finally have two guys capable of playing FS but neither of them are.

Once again, I'm not surprised by the 5 issues I have with the defense. I would've actually been surprised if any of them weren't this way. I'm just a little annoyed at the stubbornness to not give guys a chance because they don't have seniority.

This is the depth chart the league insists they put out.

Who knows how "official" it is. They actually omitted Bishop.

I can guarantee you that Dunbar is not ahead of McFadden on the RB depth chart.

I think that is a product of the chart, not the pecking order.

Who do you think starts between McFadden and Randle?

I was sure it was going to be Randle but bringing in CMike makes me think they might get more risky and play McFadden more.

You're taking this chart literally. Is it really a literal chart? I doubt it.

what do you want it to mean???

that they swear to stick to it for the whole season???

It is the team's official depth chart.

Posters are acting like the coaches are going to substitute and allot playing time based on this chart. That's fallacy. In essence, it means very little this chart.

There should be about 300 more periods between Tyron Smith and Darrion Weems.

I'm thinking McFadden will start and Randle will take over around week 3 or 4
