Can't really complain about the offense. Interesting to see that Mills is the RT backup and Weems the LT backup. That means we have no swing tackle. I'm not too concerned about the RB listing. Michael just arrived and probably needs some time. You could argue Randle deserves first shot since he's been here the longest. I think Randle, McFadden and Michael will all get a chance this year. Interesting Dunbar is #2 but I think that's more because he's the only clear non-starter and will serve more of a slot receiver/change-of-pace role.

Defense has some frustrating things that I was expecting all along. 1) Hayden was handed the job yet again. I don't think he played a single TC/PS snap. 2) Mincey ahead of Gregory. I understand not trusting a rookie with the most important pass-rushing position, but c'mon, Gregory looks special. 3) Wilber at SLB. He honestly is probably our least talented LB. He's a veteran so that likely gives him the nod over Wilson and Smith, but he really has no business being ahead of guys who have made plays like Gachkar and even Wilson and Smith. 4) White being so low and Claiborne being so high. I think White showed to be the best CB on our roster. I understand giving Carr the nod since he's been the starter for so long, but Claiborne has done nothing to win the job. He's looked decent but White has looked better. Once again, it comes down to seniority. That explains Wilber > Gachkar, Claiborne > White, and more. 5) Starting two strong safeties once again. White and Jones are both listed as CBs. We finally have two guys capable of playing FS but neither of them are.

Once again, I'm not surprised by the 5 issues I have with the defense. I would've actually been surprised if any of them weren't this way. I'm just a little annoyed at the stubbornness to not give guys a chance because they don't have seniority.

Gregory will be the DE in passing situations. They will move Mincey inside and move T Crawford to the 1T. J Crawford will also see time at the 3T on passing downs.

I'm thinking McFadden will start and Randle will take over around week 3 or 4

I was thinking the opposite, but what do i know? I think the first Offensive play of the season we see Randle....... And if he produces, we see a lot more of him....

But, I would really like DMC to sort of take over that position, and if he cant, then maybe C-Mike....?

I think Randle has a place on this team and is a valuable member of that RBBC. But, I think he is a great scatback and nothing more. But we need that scatback from time to time for a change of pace and to give the other guys a break.

Dunbar should have his own position listed. He's a situational back, whereas the other other three are basically playing the same position.

But the "situation" never seems to occur....?

Last year, they just left Murray in no matter what and beat the crap out of him. I thought it was a big mistake not to use Randle and Dunbar more because Murray wasn't the same guy at the end of the season.

Yeah. I dont get it either.... I do think there is a little truth to just wanting to keep that momentum of breaking records going, for Murray, the OL, and the Team. It was a rally point; But, I have to beleive 99% of the decision to who plays is based on, who can get me, a coach, a WIN!!

Dunbar plays special teams. So they have that, then a decent backup RB on the gameday roster....... I think they tell themsleves they need to use him more, screens, etc , etc...get him involved, etc etc..... But the only way Lance is going to get any signifcant playing time on Offense, is if someone gets hurt.... Otherwise, he is a decent STs player....I guess. I never see him out there on STs?

My hot sports opinions:

Escobar ahead of Hanna on Running downs is a foolhardy attempt to justify an underwhelming draft pick. Hanna is significantly better at inline blocking.

Wilbur as the starter at SLB is playing with fire after you've already dodged burn wounds in a volcano.

That was why they drafted him, for the elusive 12 set with Witten and Escobar just like Gronk and AHernandez.

I also thought Wilber would be the first one cut when McClain comes back. Seems they gave some deference to seniority.
