If I'm Jerry, I start working the phones to see if the Niners will dangle one of their picks this round plus a 5th this year to look at Nix. Despite his injuries to end the year, the guy has a lot of talent.

Nix is projected as a 3-4 NT. Not a fit for Marinelli's scheme.

SF is on a roll.

But things are going to change... just like they are with Seattle with young "cheap" players becoming not as young "expensive" players. That's just how the system is. When you have a young QB go from like a mil per season to like $15 mil per season.. well that's just part of the transformation from having an edge over other teams to being... well, just another team.

Yeah, but they keep replenishing with good drafts...which is the cheapest way to build.

If they keep stockpiling picks but also USING them unlike the Pats if they keep a decent hit rate they can maintain their team - when a guy gets too expensive to retain if you have enough picks you can find a guy to take his place who is as good or maybe even better.

I'm on my ipad so I can't watch the war room. Any action in there or are they shut down for the night?

Yes it is the cheapest way to build... But also keep in mind who they're competing against in the division... You've got the world champs. And look at the draft the Rams have had. Now they have 4 first-round draft picks starting on the defensive line. And Arizona has some talent.

I actually feel pretty decent that DL and LB depth is still not looking too bad.

Well, at least it seems the Commanders reached, really reached with both their picks.....hopefully these type of decisions [if they turn out bad] continues with the new staff...

I'd love to trade back into the third for Nix... but if not we may be able to get Will Sutton tomorrow in the fourth

Rams drafted a RB - Tre Mason - in the 3rd, and Mayock said the next guy he blocked in pass protection would be his first ever....
